Had anyone found a difference between the generic carb/levo and sinemet? Besides the price? I'm taking the generic and get a lot of mucous and swallowing problems after i take it.

there can be a wide range in the actual amount of delivered drug between generics in the US. I have found that there is at least one manufacturer of cd-ld that is ineffective for me. There is also a variety of different fillers, so you could be having a reaction to a filler, as well. Try another manufacturer from a different pharmacy to see if it changes anything. Also, I am under the impression that the brand name Sinemet is no longer made, so they are all generics, but not sure of that.

Yes there's a big difference between manufacturers. I figured it out and now request to that my pharmacist only use Mylan when filling my prescription. It makes a huge difference. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to try the sinemet. CVS is getting it bit us $100 for the prescription. But if it works I'll pay that. If not I'll try to get the other brand.

I have always used generic and have never had actual sinemet but it is the only drug (after trying many in 4 yrs since dx) that really works. I use only the extended release also. no side effects and last longer than immediate release c/l. let us know how you make out!

The brand name Sinemet is expensive in Canada. I use Prolopa (brand name) or there is Madopar (brand name) not sure if there are generics for these or if they are available in the country you live in but the cost less than Sinemet brand name.
