Flare or not
I'm wary of being "forced" off
prednisone
and equally don't want to stay on longer than I need to. Just a bit lost here.

Experience, thus far with Lupron and Abiraterone
I was also placed on Abiraterone 500 mg + 5 mg of
prednisone
daily. I have gained about 7 pounds in the stomach area, which is stubborn to shed. Man, do I try? Furthermore, I do experience some sleeplessness. I am waiting for proton therapy, which I understand would be sometime in June 2024.

what is normal when tapering?
Is this because I still need more
prednisone
or is it my body adjusting. How do you know when your adrenals start working again. If I am taking 5mg and my body needs 6mg would the adrenals supply the needed 1mg. Not asking for medical advice, just anyone else's experience.

what if I stop taking Zytiga?
Started Lupron and Zytiga w/
prednisone
. I have seriously struggled staying on Zytiga. The usual side effects are bad enough but three months ago my blood pressure spiked to 222/110 sending me to the ER. I’ve never had high blood pressure before this episode.

A Miracle
It was a 2 year and 9 month pain journey that started at 3am in the ER where he was given 50 mg of
Prednisone
. His body was stiff, he could barely walk, lift his arms or turn over in bed at this time. He was in so much pain.

CLL AND RA
Treatment so far is Enbrel and
prednisone
. I'm working on tapering off the
prednisone
, and now down to 10 mg from 40mg daily. I have surgery in a week for torn rotator cuff.

Anyone have success after several donor egg FET transfers?
I was also doing an autoimmune protocol with
Prednisone
10 mg, aspirin 81 mg, Lovenox, Famotodine and Claritin daily in addition to daily estrogen tabs and progesterone in oil injections.

Prednisone
So, I posted earlier about my ruptured achilles tendon...now I find out that
prednisone
weakens so many things and now tendons. I am wondering if it will even heal on
prednisone
...Any suggestions out there?... I told my wife, I would rather be in a wheelchair than blind.

Hello after a forced absence.
After 3 1/2 years on
Prednisone
for PMR (first tapering attempt failed at 7 1/2mg) I have finally gotten down to 2 1/2, very carefully. I do get suspicious shoulder aches occasionally and pray it's just that I did something my muscles aren't used to doing.

Starting Hydroxychloroquine advice….
I’ve recently finished some
prednisone
for a chest infection and they help so much with everything my questions are - what should I expect when I start taking it and is there anything else I should be asking for and will it help the same like the
prednisone
? Thanks 🙏🏻

looking for reassurance or advice
If it goes up again, I plan to ask to switch the
prednisone
for dexamethasone since I heard that sometimes helps the Abi work longer. Any other suggestions? His other bloodwork was ok except platelets and rbc were down. As always thank you to this wonderful support group.

GCA - Mums current condition
She is on 80mg or
prednisone
each day, and the head aches are limited now only to when she eats, but we are finding even that reduces when she drinks a lot of water with her meal. Her spirits are up, and she is excited to see the Doctors finally next week.

COVID and prednisone
Hi everyone, There's a summer COVID surge happening here in the US. I'm just wondering if there is anything I should know about COVID and pred. If I get COVID, does that affect how much pred I should take? If I am in a flare (I am actually in a mild flare right now) and I get COVID, then what do I

New, A Bit Scared, Would Appreciate Advice.
I was put on
prednisone
for two weeks. It worked very quickly. However the Echo revealed mild leaky Mitral valve, Tricuspid valve and trace Aortic valve, probably related to my EDS.

Flare while tapering--need guidance
I have been on
prednisone
for about 2 1/2 years. I recently got down to 8 mg a day for about 3 months with NO PAIN (oh the bliss...). I went to 7.5 mg about 3 1/2 weeks ago and am having a major flare.

Another update on potential meds intolerance
I have been prescribed by two of my endos hydrocortisone and even
prednisone
for a couple of months as my ACTH is also low in range. Interestingly aldosterone is double the range! Normally should be low alonside low cort, so I wasn't prescribed Florinef for low aldo.

Dr says RA not PMR
I have been on
prednisone
since April when first told I have PMR. Started at 30 and reduced 2.5 mg every 2-3 weeks. My Rheumatologist told me it is RA a few weeks ago and to get off
prednisone
asap. Have reduced from 20 mg to 17.5 mg after 1 week and then to 15 mg again after 1 week.
