Steroids - how much can you take without doing any lasting damage?
I was taken off
Leflunomide
last Autumn as it was causing severe high blood pressure and put on track to start Humira. To bridge the gap I was given a reducing dose of Prednisolone - 2 weeks 20mg/daily, 2 weeks 15mg, 2 weeks 10mg and 4 weeks 5mg.

Scared to take a biologic
Is there another drug on a similar level to MTX and
Leflunomide
which I could take instead? I understand my consultant wanting the best treatment for me but so far reading some articles for the biologics, all I can think of are those possible side effects.

Combination Therapy
I've been on combination therapy before - methotrexate and
leflunomide
. The result was emergency admission to hospital. It was a great shame because for the two weeks before it nearly killed me this combo had me feeling better than I had in years. So, anybody?

Could this point to fibro?
Had steroid injection wednesday as rheumy and i decided
leflunomide
not working so came off those. Rheumy thought i could also have fibro (sorry cant spell or pronounce it lol). Most symptoms had gone with steroid but today my jaw is aching.

A cautionary tale...
It all seemed to make sense as the nurse tried to explain it to me and so I will no longer be on MTX but can take a break till the new year and then I have to try
Leflunomide
instead.

Steroid Injections....
Mtx didnt work and made me ill,
leflunomide
not working and side effects, steroid tablets made me ill too, got to laugh! Is there any reason you cant just have steroid injections long term? Are there reasons/side effects long term or is it down to cost?

Has anyone taking Leflunomide experienced hair loss as a side effect?
MY RA consultant suggested I try this as the Hyrdoxychloroquine & Sulfasalazine don't appear to be working as well. However, I experienced slight hair thinning with Methotexate & am concerned this will happen with Leflunimide as apparently this is a possible side effect.
