Interpreting results
Hi - I have been told my cholesterol is too high but I am unsure of the readings and what they mean - any advice/explanation would be gratefully received. It is of concern to me because I also have high blood pressure (kidney disease as a child and I was told that as an adult I would have high blood

Cholesterol Levels or Lipids
I am in need of a support group to help me lower my cholesterol levels but more importantly, my weight. My levels have come down. I began at 253 cholesterol level to 194 cholesterol level. I was able to lower this by taking 2 supplements my doctor recommended and avoid medications. I need to lose 24

Thyroid. Rising TSH. New to Community
But my
Cholesterol
is high because I have
HDL
percentage. So despite the high
cholesterol
would that mean I have enough LDL receptors? I worry about my TSH climbing knowing it should be about 1 or less and the symptoms but can't face the prospect of tackling the GP.

First test results...what do they mean
Just had my first results, due to talk to Dr tomorrow, though I suspect she will just talk about Total cholesterol level of 5 levels at 5. Serum free T4=11pmol/L Serum TSH level=3.41mU/L Can anyone point as to where I can see how these fall into a 'normal' range, and whether I should be asking for a

HDL
cholesterol
is low (0.69 [1.04-1.56]) and my BP was up a bit. this surprised

Is cholesterol a myth?
I've been told it's a big myth cholesterol causes heart attacks but I can't see that's true as my uncle at 51, slim and non smoker had a massive heart attack due to high cholesterol. His level was about 7. My levels were tested a year ago. My hdl was 1.6, ldl 3.4 and triglycerides were 3.0. Total 6.9

LDL / HDL Ratio, Is it a big deal
Good Day to every one: My blood work report (as of 12th Dec) revealed as Total

HDL
was 48 (OK) LDL was 63 (OK) Triglycerides 78 (good) - due to the reason that this # was way above 200 six months ago.
Cholesterol

HDL
ratio was 2.5 (seems to be within range).

Shake Weight took my Statin muscle pains away.
I went from Simviatatin, to Crestor, to Lipitor for 2+ years, depending on what my insurance is willing to pay for. Then 8 months ago my doctor changed to Atorvistatin. I started experiencing shoulder pain and memory loss. If not for a pharmist who warned me of the serious side effects of statins, I

Would you believe Shake Weight to away my shoulder pain from statins?
I went from Simviatatin, to Crestor, to Lipitor for 2+ years. Depending on my insurance. Then my doctor changed to Atorvistatin. If not for a pharmist who warned me of the serious side effects. I would have continued to suffer in silence. I started experiencing shoulder pain and memory loss. After stopping
