Cholesterol Advisory Board in U.S. Tied to Statin Manufacturers
There's an old saying - 'the fish stinks from the head down'. Here's a link to an article which itself contains evidence supporting its finding - that those who are responsible for establishing the cholesterol guidelines in the United States are receiving compensation from statin manufacturers. https

High cholesterol and triglycerides?
Hello, I'm new here and I am writing because I recently had some blood work done and it showed high cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and some other things. I am just kind of puzzled and concerned about this because I am only 17, not overweight, eat a healthy diet and didn't have this problem before

EXERCISE IS NOT A LUXURY
Exercise elevates
HDL
- the so called good
cholesterol
that scavenges the bad LDL cholesterol and eliminates it from the body. Exercise lowers blood glucose levels as your body draws on the glucose for energy. Exercise tones your muscles, your endothelium and strengthens your bones.

Still Confused
Cholesterol
Serum 4.8 Serum
HDL
1.7 Serum Lipo Protein 3.1 HDL/Ratio 2.8 I am assured all is 'normal' but it was suggested a full blood count was taken as I had not had one for a couple of years. Is this the way forward? Any comments gratefully received.

cholestrol results
advice wanted on conflicting cholestrol blood fasting test. I am a woman of 55 years. Total cholestrol: 307mg/dl. Ldl cholestrol: 193mg/dl. Hdl cholestrol. 100.mg/dl. Triglycerides. 71 mg/dl. Should this be cause for concern as although total and ldl cholestrols are high, hdl is also high, ie: good
