Has anyone had a CTVC of the colon, if so how was it?
I went for a
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy yesterday. Found it very, very uncomfortable as the sedatives did not work at all!! They now say they want to do a CTVC of my colon. To be honest I cannot bear the thought of going through this again in the space of approx a week.

Gastroscopy.
I took advice from members here and asked firmly for a better sedative. I had spent all night worrying, even developing an asthmatic cough because of the stress. The nurses were very kind, listened to my fears and past experiences and informed the doctor of how nervous and tearful I was. He gave me

Side effects of esomaprazole. I have been taking esomaprazole for my acid reflux for 2 weeks ( after gastroscopy which revealed weak gullet
and stomach ) but no damage, but the weakening meant that acid leaking up into my throat and mouth. Was prescribed esomaprazole which I took for 2 weeks but I was beginning to get prolonged periods of fatigue and feeling very unsteady not exactly dizzy but very disconcerting generally feeling peculiar

I have had a gastroscopy after being diagnosed with GERD and been prescribed esomaprazole which I will take although reluctant
as my reflux is bad at night. In the last couple of weeks! I have been getting stomach ache ( abdominal pain) not cramps a general discomfort. not unlike period pain ( I am 66 so not that ) Could that the acid reflux or is it more likely to be a resurgence of ibs symptoms getting slight nausea sometimes

I went on the gluten challenge recently and only managed 3 and half weeks on it as got so debilitated. I'm waiting for the follow up after
the
gastroscopy
but I've become even more intolerant as a result. I've been glutened twice in 2 months and suffer a really bad backache immediately as well as the usual fatigue.

Info on PPI's anyone?
Hi all, Just come back from my "ultimate camera exprience" as I like to call it - colonoscopy and
gastroscopy
- and all seems well except for a minute polyp and, apparently, to much stomach acid!!!!!

General whinge as I'm in need of sympathy
So a month ago I had to have a
gastroscopy
and last Monday I had to have a colonoscopy (no they couldn't save everybody's time and effort and do them both at the same time - silly me for applying logic!). Oh dear, this had turned into a mimi rant - soz.

Drug Side Effects - Advice needed please - Adcal/Omeprazole
I had a
gastroscopy
and was told my oesophageal walls are very weak. I am taking 40mg omeprazole each day plus domperidone as well as my asthma drugs. I take adcal but have read in another post that adcal can cancel out omeprazole. Is there an alternative?

Hospital appointment this afternoon
When I saw my gastro cons at my follow up appt after the
gastroscopy
he said that there was no way the endo had damaged my throat & it sounded to him as my voice was so hoarse & has been for a month now, & I'm gradually losing it completely, that the prob lay with my voice box itself.

CT scan of neck and chest - would I have been told there and then it it had of showed nodules?
I had a ct scan a week ago and I'm now getting a bit impatient, I'm having a
gastroscopy
in two weeks so I presume won't see the consultant until after that. Do you think that I would have been told if the CT scan showed nodules? I'm hypo on thyroxine for a couple of years.

Bit confused
I have been following the dieticians advice on low salt diet, stopped drinking (4 months now), had a
gastroscopy
which showed one barely visible varices which doesn't need treatment.

What is expected with a Gastroscopy? What is it?
The post has just arrived this morning together with a letter to make a date for my
Gastroscopy
. This is the first I have heard of this. Nothing was mentioned as such at the appointment. I need to find out exactly what it is. I have had lots of procedures in the past.
