Three hours after a
cardioversion
and all good so far, cross me fingers tightly, keeping me maintained on sotalol for six weeks to hopefully, give it time to remember the rhythm.

How long do people take to feel ‘normal’ after a
cardioversion
? I will be driving for a good few hours for each break away and wonder how long should I wait after my
cardioversion
before driving long distances. Thanks in advance for any advice.

hi, I had my first
Cardioversion
at St Richards Chichester on 11th March. (First diagnosed early January but probably been in AF since Sept) It worked initially but reverted to AF very shortly after.

My cardiologist says that I should have a
cardioversion
as my heart has 4 second pauses. He says that the pauses are nothing to worry about at below 6 seconds. Do any of you have pauses like this?

amiodorone first time
had successful
cardioversion
which lasted almost 2 years with the aid of flecainide ~ now back in AF and
cardioversion
arranged but amiodorone is to be used beforehand- I’m very put off by the side affects of this drug - am I over re- acting ?

What is a cardioversion?
If you have AF you may have been offered a
cardioversion
, but may be unsure of what to expect? A
is a procedure to convert your heart from AF back into normal (sinus) rhythm.

Post cardioversion
Hubby had his
cardioversion
yesterday. One zap and it worked, he felt tired but fine. Forward to today and his pulse is 40-47. If he walks round the house and does something it goes up to 65-70. He says it doesn't feel right but not sure if he should contact cardio department. Any help please?

flecainide versus amiodorone
I had a successful
cardioversion
using flecainide before and after that lasted 2 years but now AF has returned- I will have another
cardioversion
but because of my age ( 80) the hospital want me to use amiodorone instead - I wasn’t happy with this suggestion due to the toxic side effects of amiodorone

Treatment Options
In December, 2023 went into Afib and had
cardioversion
which lasted until mid January, 2024. Went back into Afib Jan 15/24, tried Flecainide and 2nd
cardioversion
2 days ago, which failed. Are there other treatment options to get out of Afib ?

I am due to have cardio version and the doctor says that the risk of stroke increases after the procedure. I would welcome any more information on the risks so I can make a decision

Post Cardioversion
Well, after 3 years in Afib and a failed ablation I had a
cardioversion
just over a week ago, and I am pleased to say I am in Normal Sinus Rhythm ( well, fingers crossed )!..Just a point. I was a runner before getting Afib, so my pulse was always low ( High 40's, 50 )...

Cardioversion fail.
cardioversion
on Saturday. AFib back on Wednesday. May try another with medication before and after. Had been told persistent AFib CV has a 60% failure in first 2 weeks so not unduly surprised. Still very disappointed after all the wait.

Cardioversion for irregular but normal range heartbeat
From posts read it seems most who have
Cardioversion
have episodes of higher rate HB. My questions please: -For those who with normal range HB what was your success period of NSR if any at all. -Of this group who was prescribed additional medication post

Fluid build up
My partner is scheduled for a
Cardioversion
no fixed date but should be 6 days after preliminary appointment which is on 13/3/24. He has a lot of fluid building up in his legs and probably elsewhere. My question is does anyone know if having fluid will stop the
Cardioversion
from going ahead.

Cardioversion experience
Mine is due soon. Would really appreciate some feedback on forum members actual experience both on the day and the the following couple of weeks. Would also be good to know who had new medication straight away afterwards to try and make the procedure successful. Thanks for any contributions.

Post Cardioversion advice
After 4 ‘failed’ ablations, I yesterday had a
cardioversion
for atrial tachycardia. I went back into NSR after only one shock on the lowest setting and my EP was pleased with how the procedure went. Does anyone have any advice about how I can try to stay in sinus?

The arrhythmia nurse wants me to reduce my bisoprolol dose after my cardioversion - fear of early relapse.
I had a 2nd successful
cardioversion
5 days ago, and the arrhythmia nurse told me to reduce my dose of bisoprolol immediately from 7.5mg to 5mg as my heart rate was around 50bpm.
