Asthma or something else
My asthma has been severe lately, several hospital trips and a few admissions. Monday was my last one. Well today I feel horrific, hardly been able to move.. My eyes hurt, I'm exhausted, my chest feels tight, I'm really sweating and just in general feel weak and my heart is racing.. I don't know if

Clinically Extremely Vulnerable
More guidance has been shared for people with severe asthma who belong to the 'clinically extremely vulnerable' (CEV) group ahead of the lockdown in England. While formal shielding isn't returning, everyone in this group will soon receive a letter, outlining the extra steps they should take. Our website

update: Am I being unreasonable re pet "allergies"?
So.. My dog IgE test results came back the same as they did last time I had this test done - a score of about "100", which is above normal, but way below what you'd call a strong allergy (for perspective, a lot of allergic asthmatics have a score of around 1000). Had another phone appointment, this

Frustrated with GP
Hi, I’m hoping anyone can help or if anyone has had the same experience I’ve had asthma my whole life, no one else in my family has it so everything I’ve learnt about asthma is through my GP (asthma nurse). The past couple of months I have been struggling a bit with my asthma, I’ve been 3 times now this

Asthma and Finger Nails
Hi all, I have a very random question. I’ve noticed that my finger nails are very thin and curl up at the ends. I put this down to chemical damage from having back to back gel manicures. I just read an article saying that this is actually a symptom of a lack of oxygen due to conditions such as asthma

Black stools following Chemo
I've just completed 4 cycles of Chemo therapy after removing a tumour from my Colon. Ihave a stoma bag and my output is black / dark brown. I've had two OGD's to check out the bleeding in my stomach but they found nothing except gastritis. Has anyone had any similar experiences. Thank you. Michael

Where to live in the UK?
I have severe
allergic
asthma
, have lived in between Nottingham and Derby for 20 years. It’s only in the last year that my asthma became severe. I can’t breathe easily at all. I have been under hospital care since March, Xolair has been mentioned but it’s looking like a very long road to get that.

Bit of an update and a query
Hi all, hope you’re doing good. So I went to back to the GP after a week of prednisolone, peak flow diary and ventolin and he thinks from the steroids and ventolin helping me and the ups/downs of the peak flow that I may benefit from a preventer inhaler and to see an asthma nurse. He said I will need

Worsening asthma during peri menopause/menopause?
Has anyone’s asthma gotten worse during their peri menopause. I have had asthma since my mid 30’s and had very little problem managing it up until recently. I don’t have any coughing or wheezing, just a tightness under my chest and then shortness of breath. It gets a little better when I stand up.

My brown steroid preventor stopped working about a year ago without me realising , so after quite a few chest infections and anxiety related asthma episodes I swapped to forstair. Asthma wise, it is very good but

Links between asthma meds and purpura
Does anyone know if there is a proven link between asthma inhalers and skin thinning/purpura/skin fragility/bruises, especially on forearms and lower legs?

No cough, no wheeze asthma
Is there anyone out there who is not coughing and wheezing with asthma? I never have, but breathing is difficult. Had my heart checked and bloods done, so it must be my asthma making me breathless....not getting anywhere with docs though as I "don't wheeze enough". Not sure what to do now as meds don't
