It is hard to find a report/article on Metformin's possible positive association with PC that is not full of medical speak. How does anyone know if their NKX3.1 is low or high? 3 years ago I was diagnosed with unfavorable Gleason 7, with an initial psa of 6.4. Three months later I had an RP and have been undetected since. This week I started taking metformin for high sugar levels, I have also been on first atorvastatin and now rosuvastatin for 3 years. I am 5' 9" and 167 lbs. I wonder if the metformin and rosuvastatin will play a part in keeping the pc at bay.

Metformin and rosuvastatin
Probably very tiny effect if at all on PCa from statins or metformin. NKS3.1 is just a biomarker for PCa - not something to worry about.
I’ve been taking Metformin and a statin (Rosuvastatin for the last 2 years) for a decade before I was diagnosed with PC on the right side only (Gleason 9) 6 years ago. Two years post op a cryo hemiablation of the right side of my prostate, my 18 core biopsy showed Gleason 9 on both sides so I’m skeptical of any benefit from those drugs. But, remember, N=1 is never great research… PS still taking both meds…
If your interested, the book 'How to Starve Cancer' by Jane Mclelland does a deep dive into metabolic pathways and she addresses this very issue. Metformin and a statin address only a couple of the pathways that cancer is fed. All pathways should be blocked in order to starve cancer. She gives a lot of research to back it up. Good luck
You might find research by Boston College prof. Dr. Thomas Seyfried of interest. He has produced some very interesting studies on cancer metabolism and the use of a low carb, ketogenic diet with a daily fast to slow / stop cancer growth. tomseyfried.com/
