W3R1 - lead leg running

Oomph, this was hard. I couldn't breathe, my legs were from lead, the wind somehow was always in my fave and not the back, and it started raining at the end of the run. At least my dog was obedient and she was happy to run with me :)I googled reasons for lead leg running feeling, and I don't expect any of the following:

- iron deficiency - I hope not

- dehydration - I was drinking a lot recently

- intense training - debatable, I did have additional rest day

- poor stretching routine - definitely not! I stretch at least as long as I am running

- incorrect shoes - hmmm... I was running in this shoes and had great runs

- poor running form - maybe today I had a Phoebe running technique, but noone was starting or looking suspiciously at me, but cannot fully exclude this one

- lack of sleep - 7.5h tonight, and about 11h previous night, and 8h on average for the past 5 months

- low-carb diet - nope, 2 slices of wholemeal bread for breakfast, potatoes for lunch, nope, I love carbs ❤️

I will blame stressful day at work and change of the weather, because why not!

Let's call it mission completed. Week 3 finished 🎉🎉🎉

Am I ready for week 4? Who knows! We will find out soon 😅

Some runs... well, they are just like that and for no apparent reason... lead legs, wading through mud legs, or concrete feet!

The weather really can impact. I ran on Sunday and the air was so warm, humid and heavy. It felt airless and anything like that, can really make things, feel harder. I cut my route short.

Stress levels too... they work for against us... and sometimes we cannot turn that into a positive effect.

Be kind to yourself... tick it off, as one done... take another rest day if need be and set out next time with fresh feet:)

It could be any of those things (all valid reasons for a rougher run) or it could be just one of those days with no particular reason. The more you run, the more runs like that you’ll have! It’s always good to give yourself the best chance of having a good run with hydration, nutrition, rest etc but some runs are just like that. It doesn’t mean you’re any worse a runner than on a good day. You’re in very good company!

Hopefully it will be a less stressful day and better sleep tonight.

🍏Well done IgaT for getting through it! As Miss U and Oldfloss have said some runs are just like that but the important thing is you kept going and completed it! Both running and life throw us challenges and we overcome by keeping going! Well done! 👏

Sometimes you just get runs like that & you feel as if you're wading through porridge. Congratulate yourself though, because you still did it despite the slog!
