Morning everyone! Itβs Catch Up Corner time again. Howβs your week gone? Did your runs feel like you were flying like a gazelle or lumbering like an elephant? I ran yesterday in unexpectedly warm weather wearing far too much kit. I was a sweaty tomato! I took a selfie to send to my family who responded totally appropriately by laughing at my nearly infra-red glow and saying a massive well done. They are great cheerleaders!
That got me thinking about the sorts of photos I take and share during my runs. I love looking back over some of the places Iβve been to see the wildlife and the scenery. My photos of me are all either face or feet! When youβre a lonely goat and thereβs no one around to snap a full shot, itβs either head and shoulders or knees and toes. Never both at the same time!
So fellow runners, whatβs your preference? Do you naturally snap a shoe shot or a head shot of yourself? Are you selfie shy and prefer scenery?
Come and say hello and chat about your week. Maybe even share a photo or two!

Love this MissUnderstanding It's just so lovely to look back at pictures you've taken along the running journey. I used to run alone and I would take scenic shots, especially around the Humber Estuary (where I used to live) where there were some stunning views. I also loved running on trails and seeing deer, rabbits and all the flora and fauna. Since meeting Tasha99, we run together a lot and it's been lovely looking back at all our runs, Parkruns and events over the last couple of years. Each one has a memory and story behind it which we love to look back on. It is so exciting to think about all the places we can create new memories too ππ
I love this! The Humber is a beautiful part of the world. Trails are brilliant for picsβ¦I hope your wildlife is more cooperative than mine. At least plants are better at keeping still!!
It must be so nice to look back on the pics with Tasha. Sometimes I think we forget where weβve been and all the great things weβve done together. A good photo browsing session a brilliant mood lifter!
Happy running to you both and enjoy making more photo memories together!
Good Morning another lonely goat here yes you are correct head snap lol. Well itβs going ok Iβm going to today Iβm hoping to finish week 5 today but we will see what it brings. I have learnt so much about my self during this program . If I want it I have to go get it and itβs not going to be easy and some cases not nice but at the end well worth it. I scoped out a few new places to go for a run so letβs see what this amends pictures bring I may find I have a full body in my pictures lol. Have a good day πͺ
Thatβs a great update! Week 5 run 3 is a real milestone. Take it steady, donβt overthink it and just enjoy the feeling youβll get at the end.

I absolutely love this!!! This was my experience too. Those tough runs show us weβre tougher than we think we are. Running is about so much more than running and youβre totally nailing it.
Enjoy those new routes and taking some lovely photos!
ππ€£ When I saw the title I thought we were in for Strength & Flex which of course we all need to be reminded of π€£ We certainly can all identify with this in one way or another. I am definitely selfie shy or maybe too vain!! I remember the days before digital cameras when we had to wait 7-10 days to get our snaps developed. The disappointment after paying for them to find someone didnβt have a head or the birthday girl had been cut out etc π€£It is getting hard to judge what to wear in this interim weather. I was also a hot tomato on my Friday run! Thanks Lass for a fun post! Xx
π€£π€£ yes I can see how the Strength and Flex confusion came about! Maybe thatβs what I should do for next weekβs corner!
This weather is so hard for getting kit right. Iβm glad itβs not just me! Smart phones have made on the go photos so easy. Itβs so nice to be able to share the run snaps and not have to worry about carrying a camera too. The days of getting your pics back were fun though!
Maybe we need to invent the shoe-fie instead of the selfie. Thatβs a shoe shot while youβre out on a run and could be an option for the camera shy!
Great pic MissU, just look at those colours! When I turn up to run with the Eymet Running Group the run leader always comments that the group page will look more interesting as the group photographer has arrived! If only they realised that I call out for a group photo as it gives me an extra few minutes to catch my breath! I love having an interesting photo to pop on my Strava page, but it can be a challenge, when you run the same route regularly, to find something new. Here is one of my frequent views.
Thank you! When the sun is shining, my local area looks luminous and I love it!
Thatβs such a gorgeous photo! I know what you mean about the same route not necessarily making the best strava picture! If itβs a country type route, itβs lovely to see nature unfolding in the same spot all year.
Photos are a brilliant excuse for a breathing break!!! Iβm nicking that idea!
I had only ever taken photos of scenery until last week. After I slipped over in a very muddy patch I just had to take a photo of my mud encrusted legs!!!
Muddy legs are a badge of honour!! Iβve got more than a few of those in my back catalogue of photographic work!! Hope you were ok after your slip. Mud usually gives a soft landing!!
I am a treadmill runner so far. Hoping to get outside for the first time this week ( once the rain stops). Bit apprehensive that it will be harder and knock my confidence but determined to give it a go anyway. Love seeing all your photos π
Treadmills are really useful bits of kit. You might find starting outdoors is a transition that takes a bit of practice but Iβm sure itβll be worth it. It opens up all sorts of options for lovely routes and events (if thatβs your sort of thing). Lots of posters started on treadmills and moved to a mix of outdoor and indoor runs.
Basically, expect it to feel a bit harder because youβll be pacing yourself, the terrain is different underfoot, thereβs weather and routes to think about etc. Consider choosing an earlier week of couch to 5k. Go slower than you think you need to! Good luck!
