Starting WEEK 9 today!!! I struggled with week 8 a bit for various reasons. I'm hoping to get out there and really enjoy this last week of the programme. I didn't sleep well last night so hopefully that doesn't make today's run too hard.
First run today after many weeks of not running. Didn't feel too fabulous but got in from work, donned my kit & went out. 2.19k with lead legs! Saturday will be better
Starting Week 8 tomorrow - and looking forward to it!
I've even found myself forward planning and hunting out the best circuits for runs in the coming month depending on where I'll be. I never imagined that I'd be this smitten!!!
So it's been almost a week since I last ran and this is due to my niggling knee. Deciding to play it safe and rest properly, I only managed a couple of walks during the week and last night went out for a run again.
Firstly my niggling knee issue. After giving this some thought as how it could have happened it came down to two possibilities a) I took a corner a bit too fast and did some sort of damage there or b) my old trainers, I think they're past their sell by date and don't have that support anymore.
So after binning the old trainers, I set out using my normal go to trainers and kept with the 5K distance, don't really want to be increasing any further, and kept it at a steady pace and thankfully have had no problems today.
Now my aim is get myself back into a certain fitness/strength level in order for me to keep running during Ramadan.
Hope everyone's enjoying the glorious weather today, perfect running material.
Run two of week nine completed this morning before the rain set in but in mud and dodging muddy puddles. Getting close to the podium but gremlins out in force! I 'know' logically that I can now run for 30 minutes (I have done it so I must be able to do it) but my mind can't quite believe it yet - even when Laura said there was just 60 seconds to go I had to ignore the gremlins that were saying "ok this is silly , enough is enough you can stop now!" I wonder how much running it takes before the mind catches up with the legs!?
Ooooh, I only just found these pinned posts.... doh....
I’m glad to be on board - started W1R1 on Easter Monday (2nd April I think).
Thank you for all help and support so far - this is my 4th time around the C25K block - I’ve actually graduated once, so am in a good place to know I can do it again 🙂🏃🏽♀️
