I’ve just attempted W7 R I’ve completed the same run two days previously without stopping but failed miserably today and stopped 6 times for up to a minute. Why is it sometimes you can do it and sometimes you can’t?

Not f*** is fractice!! Just one of those days....put it behind you and move on 😊
See if you can find my F.A.I.L post....there’s no such thing...that’s a Practice run that’s all...bag the stamina & Kms & try it again..you’ll be fine, just fine 😊
No run is a failure, you put kms and stamina in the bank. That means you can draw on them both, next time. A couple of things are you starting too quickly? I know I did in the latter stages of the programme and as a consequence ran out of puff.
Also looking back I would have benefitted from taking an extra days rest from time to time. Cumulatively the effort is mounting and it could just be your bod telling you to rest.
No reason at all why you shouldn't be successful ne t time out, after all you've already done 20 runs or so.
Give yourself a hug, a rest and run that run successfully in your head and your legs will follow
Good luck and happy running
OK, the dreadful WEEK 7. I know people hate week 1. And freak out at Week 5. But week 7 for me was the toughest. 1) longer runs. I needed 2 days rest between runs often. 2) mentally -- starting to get bored, no more challenges, podium looming. Had to get an app where I'm chased by zombies.
I reckon you needed more rest, more fuel, more liquid or some combination of the above.
Any number of reason.. but.. rest up, re group and head out again, but slower than a snail on a go slow.
Relax into the longer run... breathe easy and let the legs just take you gently forward. You will do this !
The first time I did c25k I got stuck on week 7 for three weeks! It was awful, I just had a mental block I think. I ended up completing two runs and then moved on to week 8 and for some reason then I was fine. It makes no sense to me now and it didn't then 😬
It's just gremlins I think. Consider moving on and just call it a bad run
Every run, good or bad, is training for the next one.
Nothing is wasted. Nothing is lost. Take the positives. Learn from the negatives.
Analysis of your behaviour, sleep patterns, eating habits and hydration over the preceding 48 hrs may well give you some clues.
Everything in your life can affect your running and your running can affect just about everything in your life..........so work on that balance.
There can be many factors to why, the truth is there are very few (if ever) times when everything is going to be perfectly aligned, we are not professional athletes able to dedicate our lives to perfecting our running above all else. So don't spend too much time analysing it, but do learn from it. Some runs are just harder than others, and they require us to dig deeper.
Next time when you feel like stopping try pushing yourself just to the next lampost, or how about to the next junction? Forget the big picture. Running down a clock is hard. Break it down into manageable chunks.
My sympathies Rachel37 - I had the same experience Friday - I managed to push myself to 5 minutes and then just went home - my legs felt like lead and I just wasn't feeling it. Usually my stubbornness wins over my desire to stop but I didn't even feel like I could be bothered. I remembered lots of people on here saying it was common and not to bother analysing it. I'm due to try again tonight but think I'm coming down with a lurgy so feel really tired. If the body says rest, I will try to obey! Good luck
Hey, oooh no, that’s a real bummer.
Ah I’m glad I’m not the only one, my legs were like lead too, I just couldn’t get my mind focused enough, it was so frustrating.
Hopefully your bug will pass and you’ll get back out there.
I’m pleased to report after a day of eating well I managed the 25 minutes without stopping although at a slightly slower pace.
Good luck with yours and I hope you feel better soon x
I'm only on week 3, but even still I've noticed how much easier running in the morning is for me to the evening. What I've eaten in the last 12 hours makes a difference too. And one day I found it really difficult then it was only after that I realised I had forgotten to take a rest day!
Do you run at the same time each day? Is there a correlation with that?
Hey, well done on reaching week 3 😊
I’ve analysed my ‘off run’ I hadn’t eaten much the evening previously and I won’t eat hust before a run, two days previously I had done the run, I think I should have had more recovery time.
I’m happy to say that tonight I completed my 25 minutes non stop although at a slightly slower pace than on Saturday xx
