Second attempt at week8run1 successful.

On Saturday morning I decided to go for my run,wk6r1. So,all dolled up in my new kit I had bought on Friday (my gift to myself for completing week7) off I went. The sun was shining, the sky was blue with just a few white fluffy clouds and there was a gentle breeze, perfect!! The first 5/7mins were brutal my legs felt like lead and it was like running in treacle. No! No! No! I will not be beaten, then young Laura said you are halfway and I suddenly felt the heaviness melt away and it felt good. Then the skies started to darken and within what only seemed like seconds it started to rain, straight down extremely heavy rain. The path quickly became very muddy and slippy sowith only ten mins to go I had to abort it as I was having difficulty staying upright. I was not a pretty sight when I got home, all of my nice new kit and shoes were absolutely soaked. So after a nice hot shower I got everything washed but it has taken until today to get my shoes dry. The skies didn't look too clever this morning so I did my run today on the treadmill as I didnt want to risk getting ny shoes wet again. The first 5 minutes were hard but once I got into a rhythm I enjoyed it. Little old me running for 28 mins nonstop UNBELIEVABLE!! I plan on doing run2 on Thursday and hopefully I will be able to go outdoor which I prefer. This running lark is very addictive isn't it? I seem to spend more time looking at sportswear than normal clothing and seem to have accumulated a few tops, shorts, leggings, running bras and socks + 2 cap But! only one pair of shoes! And the moral of this tale is? I REALLY NEED a second pair of running shoes don't I? Please say yes. Good luck to everyone running this week and get well soon to anyone on the injury couch.

Hee hee I'm a few weeks behind you ( think you are on week 8 not week 6 as you said) but have also bought lots of running clothes... Short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops,, bras, leggings, short and so on. . Well- they are essential!! But only one pair of shoes. Hmm. That's a thought,......... Maybe as a graduation gift we can get a second pair - purely for practical drying out reasons of course!

Well you definitely need another pair of shoes for when your first pair get wet! Then you don't have to wait for them to dry out before you can go out again X

No further justification needed 😆

It's soooo addictive I'm hooked too. I have more running gear than day clothes I think. As for trainers I have 2 pairs and I'm planning on a 3rd pair for graduation on Thursday 😀
