Selegiline side effects
Due to drug shortages we've been unable to get rasagiline and had to swap to
selegiline
. Since the swap mum has had lots of unusual bleeding and the GP thinks it may be a side effect of the
selegiline
. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems and if so how did you resolve things?.

Selegiline - Noticeably improved symptoms
My new neurologist started me on
Selegiline
10 mg/day. In two weeks I reduced my Sinemet from two pills per day to one. My tremor is much calmer and I feel more clear. So far no negative side effects and I take the first 5 mg on an empty stomach.

Help in understanding drugs in Parkinsons
I understand that there are complimentary drugs such MAO-B Inhibitors (such as
Selegiline
, Rasagiline, and Safinamide) I've done some cursory reseach which indicates that MAO-B inhibitors are neuroprotective, may delay alpha-synuclein aggregation and therefore may have disease modifying effects.

Very sad about putting my dog to sleep today
We have been giving her an anti- inflammatory for her arthritis, and a medication called
selegiline
for her dementia. Both medications helped a bit at first, but are not helping now. This dog was a rescue and had many issues, but worked through them with love and attention.

Multiple mechanisms to clear a-synuclein with natural substances (in mice).
Paeoniflorin treatment also resulted in the dose-dependent upregulation of an antiapoptotic protein, B-cell lymphoma-2, at the mRNA and protein levels, similar to the effects of the positive control,
selegiline
.

London Royal Hospital consultants
I'm on
Selegiline
and Ropinirole (Requip). Be grateful for any comments or tips. Also wondering if this Hospital has good Parkinson’s nurses whom you can contact?

opicapone
I currently take 600mg of Sinemet, 10mg of
selegiline
and 3 grams of Vitamin B1 per day. I wanted to ask who takes opicapone their experience in this regard. Any suggestion for a good, professionally and humanly, neurologist who works in Italy and specifically in Rome will also be welcome.

Finally, those who take the MAO-B inhibitor
selegiline
should eat with moderation (but not eliminate) foods that contain high concentrations of tyramine, such as cured, air-dried, and fermented meats or fish, aged cheeses, most soybean products, yeast extracts, red wine, tap beer, and sauerkraut.

PD Effect on Sleep
The antiparkinsonian medications amantadine and
selegiline
can also make it hard for people to fall asleep or stay asleep, due to their stimulant effect. My mom had this problem. With advanced PD she would sometimes experience excessive dyskinesia, which she took amantadine to control.
