Direct switch of meds
Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a direct switch of medication? I was on 150 mg of Effexor XR then went to 75 mg for 1 week then right into 100 mg of Zoloft. Effexor works good for me but I’m experiencing some OCD issues I’d like to control so my doctor and therapist said it wouldn

College life sucks.... Having a hard time making friends and connecting with others.
So, college classes started today after a long pandemic break of 1 year. I thought things would turn out to be alright. But I was wrong. It was still awful as my last 12 academic years. I've been dealing with depression, social anxiety and OCD for years. The thing is I don't have anything to talk

Frustrated and tired
I got diagnosed 5-6 yrs ago and basically had support from the therapist who diagnosed me. I finally was starting to see a therapist late last yr but now I’m have to find a new due to a change in insurance. Luckily I’ve been able to keep taking my vyvanse. Since I’ve been diagnosed I’ve been watching

01/03/2021 - What did I do when my fingers started to bend inward?
I read in other group that some RA patients said that their fingers bend inward and they are not able to function as normal because they are very tender to touch. I can certainly relate to the pain and the feeling of disappointment. At the early stage of my RA, my fingers bent inward too. They were

Am I the only one going through these observations for my 8year old boy?
My son is 8 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 6. We got him on 504 plan for the school and we have a behavior therapist to guide him. He is very kind hearted, loves to read and has some challenges in getting along with peers (more below). We give him Omega-3 tablets. He is not on any

ERP confusion in my brain, need advice please from others who are, or who have done, ERP with meds
ERP Confusion I have just started taking prozac one time a day and have begun to do some exposures at home on my own (no therapist present during exposure helping me due to pandemic). I am winging it on my own but have obtained some emotional relief. Has anyone experienced mental confusion while taking

Falling in numbness
It gets exhausting having to explain yourself so many times, saying the same things. I think it might be human nature but do you ever feel the need to tell your psychiatrist or therapist, that you are doing better? When they initially ask? Somewhere in the conversation the truth comes out. Everyone asks

Therapy for parents of children with ADHD?
How many or do any of you with a child with ADHD see a therapist yourself? There are some days when I am absolutely ready to scream after a particularly challenging day with my son or hearing about how he is struggling in school and I wonder if someone other than my spouse could help me think about things

Any advice? Bad idea?
Ok so I think I was stupid. Lately I've been struggling with obssesive intrusive thoughts that are overwhelmingly unlike me. I talked to my therapist and we devised a plan filled with simple methods to make them better and it was working! However, doing research, I stumbled upon ERP therapy and decided

Getting vaccine today
I know I have to do this. It’s the only real hope for moving beyond this virus. But having to do it also sparks off my anxiety and depression. This last year has been hard on both. Started out 2020 in the hospital for clinical depression and I’ve been working on it and the anxiety issues ever since

How to Free Yourself from the Fear of Vomit & Reclaim Your Life: A Healing Journey Shared by Therapist & Patient - Free On-Demand Webinar
The fear of vomiting can become so all-consuming and terrifying that eating becomes a struggle and weight loss becomes dangerous. As sufferers try to protect themselves from throwing up, their world shrinks until it becomes impossible to work, go to school, or to socialize. This was Kay prior to treatment

How to Know When to Seek Therapy - ADAA Blog Post
People often wonder. When does it make sense to begin therapy? Therapists use two primary reasons to see if treatment would be recommended. We call it level of distress and impairment in functioning. The simple translation for you is how upset do you feel about what you are experiencing, and how much

Newly diagnosed PMR – returning to work.
Hi Everyone. I was diagnosed with PMR 2 weeks ago and I’m currently on 25mg of Pred, down from 30 last week and due to reduce to 20 next week (per GPs instructions). At the mo I don’t have pain but still have a dull ache in my shoulder. I’m 51 and up until last year I was fit and well, so the onset

Neurofeedback for RLS?
A friend of mine who had some anxiety issues, among other things went to a psychotherapist who did Neuro feedback sessions. He did not want to take any psychotropic drugs to treat his problems. It consisted of mapping the brain's activity then correcting the imbalances with very tiny impulses of electricity

Does anyone in this group have any idea about relationship therapy?
Hi all, I'm here to seek some helpful advice. I got married six years ago. Now, my husband is not happy with me, and he changed a lot. He started some bad habits of drinking and smoking. He is not listening to me and not spending time with me. I have tried a lot to talk with him, but he is not willing

No question - just comment
Three weeks ago I finally connected with a counselor / therapist. We talked for nearly an hour and as we scheduled another appointment she says "we've got lots to talk about". My second encounter was yesterday - it started off fine - "how are you doing?", "do you think the meds are helping?" and she

Birthday Depression
The holidays and my birthday are the two times of year that I dread the most. I know it's because they remind me of how few people I have in my life, and how empty and useless I feel. Today is my birthday and I feel exhausted, drained from all the sadness, and like I just want to sleep for the next year

Update
I forgot to make a post after my appointment on Monday so here I am doing it rather delayed 😅 I was pretty nervous going in as I haven’t really left my house apart from walks within the vicinity of my house and felt an attack coming on but it disappeared once the physio therapist came in. I told him
