Daughter starting B12 loading doses- question re supplements
Hello again, I've just got off the phone to GP and she has sanctioned loading doses EOD. She initially offered once every two weeks. I said 'Oh I though they were supposed to be EOD' and she said 'Well she doesn't fit the criteria for deficiency' but seemed to consider for a few seconds and then said

Any advice for a friend? Folate, ferritin and Vitamin D…
Hello… I have a friend who has been hypothyroid for decades, and is now late seventies. She has felt suddenly exhausted and put it down to life events, but had a FBC, which the GP said was ‘fine’. Having had such invaluable help from so many of you on here, I suggested she got the results emailed, and

Normal results but still feeling incredibly fatigued.
Hi A couple of months ago I posted to ask for advice about an upcoming Drs Appointment to discuss subclinical hypothyroid blood test results. I'd been on annual blood tests following a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism in 2013. Carbimazole brought results down and then into hypo, medication stopped and

Is there any point me testing FT3 levels 4 hours after dosing,ie peak T3 to satisfy neg Endo that im not overdosing?
Hi Everyone, Ie if 4 hrs in and my T3 is below 6.8 NHS range ,then I am not overmedicated am I ? Its true I havnt found my sweet spot, and my TSH is just below NHS range. at 0.08. But my T4 is 15.3 and T3 5.8 ,both in NHS range , so how can that be overmedicated if these two are 'in the accepted range

Need advice in adjusting dose
I hope everyone is making progress in finding their sweet spots. I’m here again, needing help once more. I’m only able to stay healthy forever 2-3 weeks at any one time. Can’t seem to maintain good thyroid health for too long. I’m very frustrated and feel like I’m heading towards a dead end street!

Hi all I urgently need some advice on clinics which specifically help women over 40 with low AMH and men with low sperm. I am 40 with a very low AMH of 0.3 and my partner has low sperm which is under 1 million with low mobility. We have had 9 attempts at IVF all at the same NHS clinic (we are now

New to this group
Hi all,I have hashimotos and hypothyroidism and have been a member on the thyroid forum for a while. It's been suggested I post on here for some interpretation of some bloods. I have been tested for PA but was told it was normal, but I'm sceptical given what I've read and what I'm experiencing. Apologies

Distribution of medication and supplements throughout the day.
In my efforts to optimise the effect of C/L medication and oral supplements, I would like advice on this, to promote positive drug / supplements interactions if possible and to prevent any negative interactions. For example, I am familiar with the interaction carbidopa <> B6, but what is the best time

Doctor won't diagnose PMR
I'm absolutely certain that I have PMR. But my blood tests all came back normal, including the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and the inflammatory marker test, and I'm only 56. My GP has just left me on NSAIDS and paracetamol with physio. It's not working. How common is it to have PMR with no obvious

What to say about NSAIDs and muscle relaxants
Hello All -- The other day I asked my EP which NSAIDs would be less harmful. He replied that since I am not on anticoagulants NSAIDs are not contraindicated for me. I said nothing. I didn't have the heart to say I had more confidence in my wonderful UK Afib forum than in his pronouncement. At some

ART Vit D and Prostate Cancer (PCa) by Dr Campbell UK Podcast
Dr Campbell, UK, has made a summary of recent investigations and studies on VIT D and its effect on PCa specifically and cancer generally. Of import is his discussiono on the finding on PCa and African Americans; they have a genomic risk factor that leads to more aggressive PCa, BUT respond quickly

Duloxetine with low dose of tramadol?
Hi all I’m hoping to switch from Amitriptyline (which is no longer working for me) to Duloxetine very soon. I also take cocodamol here and there and it really helps but I have to stop it ideally because of mast cell issues (a whole other story). Tramadol would be a suitable switch but I’ve read it

Vitamin K2 - oil
I've been using Vitamaze Vitamin K2 but I need to order a replacement and it's out of stock. What other K2 products are people using? I don't want one with Vitamin D in it. I liked the oil version. Darn it!

Taking Ferrous Sulphate Exhausts Me, Any Alternatives?
Hi All, In February 2023 I requested a blood test from my GP as I felt generally awful. I had muscle and joint pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, irritability, hair loss, overall skin sensitivity and moderate acne that scarred. I was also losing my evenings as my body was so tired, I’d nap for hours

Hi all, just wanted to ask if anyone has had similar experience of taking NSAIDs?In 2019 I had endoscopy as I was experiencing stomach pain and afterwards I was told to avoid NSAIDs.
