Pain everywhere.
I've been 10+ yrs searching for answers. I had some bladder problems in 2013. Doctors did surgery. I almost died. Apparently they told me my blood vessels looked funny. They didn't know if they "knicked " me or what but I lost 8 pints of blood very quickly. They barely got me transfusion in time. I chalked

Good Morning everyone, just trying to understand to make sure it isn’t just me. But has anyone suffered with depression and PTSD after series heart surgery, because I have and wanted to make sure I wasn’t alone, although I do at times feel depressed, I was 17 when I had surgery. And just now wanted advice

Post Operative Steroids
I am now home after having a new knee fitted. They kept me in an extra night due to being in surgery much longer than anticipated and low sodium levels, so saline drip overnight. I am guessing I was given more anaesthesia than planned, I am finding that I am more tired than I've ever felt. I can

Started in September 2023 with stiff hips and buttocks, just woke up like that. Don't know if it was coincidence but this was 3 day's after a flu jab! Gradually over the next few weeks, hip's became stiffer, burning type pain at times down to the knees. Putting on lower half clothes and shoes became

Help- my 18 year old just diagnosed with grade 4
My oldest, my 18 year son was complaining about headaches for a week. We took him to doctor on Saturday and by the evening we had an MRI of large brain lesions causing pressure in his cerebellum and back of his skull. We were shocked and floored. Just tried to keep it together until we had more conclusive

Yippee! No surgery!
Well, not yet anyway. The gall bladder surgeon scheduled me for a gastric emptying test 2 days ago, and I sat down with him this morning to go over the results. Of course I failed it, but my gall bladder has been fine for several weeks now so we're putting surgery on hold. I'm to call him immediately

Bowell prolapse
I would like some advice about a prolapsed bowell. I have been advised by my Doctor that I could have keyhole surgery to correct it. Has anyone else had this surgery and if so what was their experience.?

Help with getting a diagnosis
Hi all, I have been struggling for years now with symptoms of hypothyroidism. It’s all really come on over the last couple of years. My weight is out of control, I’m freezing all the time, my hair is dry and brittle, plus many other textbook underactive thyroid symptoms. I’ve been to the doctors

max inhaler dose?
Hi everyone. I saw the hospital respiratory team about a month ago, who said that it is ok to take 5 puffs rather than the suggested max 4 puffs Fostair 200/6, as a kind of last resort before prednisolone. I’ve taken a lot of steroids this year and am trying to reduce the number of courses. However,

Terrified at thought of laparoscopy
I found out earlier in the week that my recent ultrasound scan picked up a large endometrioma on my right ovary. Because of the cancer risk, GP referred me to the gynaecologist through the 2 week wait, and I was told to expect surgery. I have a huge fear of hospitals and anything medical. It took me

Prostrap experiences please. Also returned endo pain after a bowel resection advice
In june this year I had excision surgery for stage 4 endometriosis including a bowel resection. I was pain free for about 2 months then unfortunately it came back in my bowels and flare ups are more frequent. I met with my specialist this week and she wants me to go onto Prostap injections for at least

urethral constriction
Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly

repeat prescription via NHS app
Today is day 20 of my monthly Levo prescription. I used to order two weeks before running out but the surgery got funny about it and said I can only order a week before running out so I make sure I order on day 20. Using the NHS app to request repeat prescription this morning it failed to go through

PSA slightly rose after 8 months undetectable
I am 57 and on ADT (Firmagon+Zytiga+Prednisone) after surgery in 2022 and 39 sessions of RT in 2023 (Jan Feb). Till now I has been undetectable but at November my bloodwork showed PSA risen to 0.04. Should I be concerned or could it be just random fluctuation? Thanks for your reactions.

fibroelastoma near aortic valve discovered on checkup when symptomless
Hi everyone, I had an echocardiogram to assess damage to heart for other drugs for a blood condition. It showed a fibroelastoma 7mm x7mm next to the aortic valve, and I have been told I need open heart surgery to remove it and likely replacement of the valve. I have numerous complicating issues related

T4 Reduction to increase TSH
In January I was taking 150 T4 daily and 2x5mg T3, my bloods were T4=18.1 (9-19) T3 4.98 (2.6-5.7) TSH <0.03(0.35-4.94). I have been taking T3 since Oct 2019 because I felt so ill, tired, hair loss, dry skin, muscle and joint problems. With the help of much advice on here I started taking supplements
