Sheila Turner, Thyroid Patient Advocacy UK
Sheila's daughter has posted an update on her health on the tpauk.com forum, page 10 of the 'Sheila' thread. I'm afraid it's not good news. Susan has requested that anyone who knows or has met Sheila send her a letter to let her know that we remember her and her work with TPA.

I'm thinking of coming off my statins
I have read so much bad press and I am now getting some joint and muscle aches. I have been on atrovastatin 20mg for over a year now.. No cardiac issues but I did have a cholesterol of over 7.5. which is why my GP put me on them - that and my family history - mum CABG at 60 brother CABG at 58 etc..

Starting again!
I am just restarting after an accident this February when my shirt caught fire when I was cooking. I couldn't move for months because of pain from skin grafts and general recovery but I have now done one rep of week 1's run and for my second run I have moved onto week 2 which I could manage. I plan

The Reality of what we are up against in the UK
I believe that the below links open official documents that make it clear that the UK government and NHS will not change their position no matter how many petitions: http://www.british-thyroid-association.org/info-for-patients/Docs/bta_Armour_T4_T3.pdf https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc

Iodine Supplementation
I know that this topic has come up often but I still see no definitive answers on the specific question of supplementing with iodine whilst taking NDT, Iodine insufficiency presents very similar symptoms to hypothyroid. Just a few weeks ago I started on WP NDT, i'm up to 2 x 0.5 grain/day and not noticed

To all my fellow runners and colleagues who've followed C25K. Like many of you a few years ago, I decided to change my lifestyle, lose weight, get fit etc and start back running. To my surprise last year I was diagnosed with Basil skin cancer on my ear, I write this in the hope it may help others who

Skin graft.
I suffer from skin cancer, and yesterday I had a biopsy taken from a growth on my forehead, it's the size of a 50p piece, I fully expect that this will have to be removed, but my question is I do not want to have a skin graft, I am 72yrs old and no oil painting the fact that I will have a scar after

Introduction and a query
I received an APS diagnosis early this morning. It caught me completely off guard. I spent a good bit of time today doing the google research thing. I'm more confused than ever. I have bilateral Meniere's disease. I've already had the left inner ear chemically removed and the right ear is deteriorating

Coming off Statins
I am 61 years old have had a stent fitted 14 years ago and recently had a CABGx2. When I had the CABG I hoped to come off the cocktail of drugs that I had been taking for the last 14 years particular statins and beta blockers. (Beta blockers tend to give me side effects so the cardiologist reduced
