Mri diffusion weighted
Hi everyone I hope you’re doing okay. I’ve had a letter today with an mri appointment I’ve been waiting for & it listed 3 scans, a pelvic mri and an abdominal mri which I’ve had numerous times but it also listed ‘mri diffusion weighted’ which I’ve never had or even heard of before. I tried to google

I’m currently on Latanoprost until I see my consultant
I’m currently on Latanaprost 1 drop both eyes per night until I see my consultant next Thursday. I’m newly diagnosed and been on them a week and a half. Will they keep the pressures reduced so as to not cause any more damage until I can get surgery? Anyone know how long it takes latanaprost to reduce

Avastin Sore Mouth
Hi there, my mum has had 2 infusions of Avastin and although seems to be tolerating it well she has developed a really sore mouth and eating is really painful. Can anyone recommend anything to help and does this settle down as the treatment progresses? Thanks in advance for any advice. Ashleigh x

Muscles
Hi Everyone, I am on 10.5 pred for 4 weeks. I am getting bilateral muscle pain in arms and legs in morning. They tend to get better about a hour after I wake with pain killers so I’m assuming they are not pmr! Any advice here please. Janet

HCQ: do we need to pay more attention to serious ocular side effects!👆
Many lupus sufferers are prescribed Hydroxychloroquine to manage their lupus and a common side effect most often reported is gastrointestinal disturbances eg stomach churning, pain, wind, digestive problems etc BUT prescribers never seem to liaise with ophthalmologists to establish baseline observations

Dry eye irritation
It doesn't sound much, does it, dry-eye irritation, but it's making my life an absolute misery. For two days now I haven't been able to read - my great pleasure in life - as the irritation is so bad compounded by the glare as well. Wearing dark glasses indoors is a sort of help but it's not enough

One year Couch to 5k Runniversary
Just a quick post (hopefully, during lunch break), Sunday 24th was a year since I graduated from c25k. I couldn't really mark it as following a half marathon training plan that scheduled just a15 min recovery run and I want change because I had a 10k event yesterday. So, I marked that run as the anniversary

Myopic macular degeneration
Hi all. After treatment (18 months and 10 Lucentis injections) for what I’d assumed was ‘age related’ MD, a consultant today told me, no, it was ‘myopic’ MD. I’ve always (since teens) been extremely short sighted so maybe no surprise there. Has anyone else been diagnosed with ‘myopic’ MD and, if so

Diagnostic laparoscopy on Friday
The date is getting closer but the pain is much much worse. I finally was told that I had a cyst on my left ovary a month after having my ultrasound scans, and also after being given the date for my laparoscopy. I recently had to go back to taking desogestrel as I had ran out of the new one and with

Maybe why we wait for a cure
I think I may have previously posted some of this story My first Neurologist was a brilliant doctor and brain surgeon and expert in the cardiovascular system. He was head of cardiology at a world class hospital and known around the world. My M.D. went to school with him and they were good friends

Hi everyone I asked a little while ago if anyone swapped painkillers from gabapentin to pregabalin as I just had unfortunately although mg pregabalin is equal to 800mg gabapentin my body definitely doesn’t agree so I was thinking of asking to change back again. What's this in my RPE after Eyleas injections?
Had CNV/AMD in left eye 2016, didn't know if I could hold still for injections, hence no central vision in that eye. CNV/AMD started in right eye in January 2018. No choice about going for injections. Had injections until March 2020 when oedema stopped. The small bump in my RPE, as in the first of my

sensitive feet?
Does anyone else have really sensitive feet.?It's happened this last year. It hurts to wear shoes. The softest shoes cause bruises or blisters after just a short while. I don't know if this is just a new issue from lupus/sjogrens or from taking hydroxy or pilocarpine. I'm early fifties so it can't

Help Please
Had my first rheumatologist appointment on Thursday, he too, like my two GPs are convinced it’s not Polymyalgia. He’s suggesting bursitis, or tendonitis. I had five X-ray, blood’s taken, and a thorough examination of my joints, which he says are all good. I’ve to reduce my steroids, currently on 10,
