watched an interesting programme with dr mosely about food/diet which not only lost weight but had major impact on sugars and cholesterol
mosely was looking into diets some extreme like fasting which brought all those levels down but was very hard to keep up then he tried the 5/2 regime which he as stuck to and the results were very good so its five days normal 2 days fasting but not total fasting https://thebloodsugardiet.com/the-52-

Any of you who have read one of my infrequent posts will know that one of my reasons for starting c25k back in May was an unexpected diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, together with a wish to get fitter following recent retirement at 63. My blood sugar level then was 54 with the diagnosis level being 48 and

Proof for those that need it that running is good for you
I have type 2 diabetes and in July 2017 my HbA1c was 82 (not good). My doctor told me I needed to take action, so by doing more walking and cutting down on what I ate I managed to reduce it to 48 by May 2018. The doctor suggested I could improve it even further by getting my heart rate up and 'get a

Shock diabetes figures in England and Wales amongst the young
Hi everyone, This was on the news this morning that the number of young people in England and Wales is 10x higher than previously thought. This is a shocking statistic and we as a society need to be aware of type 2 diabetes and the serious health consequences that accompany it. Type 2 Diabetes is more

Are You Missing These Steps to Health?
For at least the last 100 years or so many "experts" have had an incomplete understanding of what it takes to greatly improve insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Their advice? Reduce carbs as much as you can stand. It's just common sense, right? If you have too much glucose in your blood, stop eating

CRT
Has anyone had a CRT device implanted to correct PVC? Ablation has not worked and I get shortness of breath just sanding up and walking 5 feet. It's also terribly uncomfortable when it starts.

New research recommends taxing red meat and processed meat to save lives.
Good morning everyone, I've just listened to this article on radio 4 about how taxing red meat would save lives, it is based on research by the WHO (world health organisation) which shows a link between eating red meat and processed meat as a carcinogen. Denmark already has a red meat tax and other governments

Take Another Look at HCL
In one study US researchers found that over 30 percent of men and women past the age of 60 suffer from atrophic gastritis, a condition marked by little or no acid secretion. (8) A second study found that up to 40% of postmenopausal women have no basal gastric acid secretions. (9) We know acid is needed

Type 1 diabetes awareness,
Good morning everyone, Most people are aware of type 2 diabetes which has links to obesity and a genetic disposition. But what about type 1 which's believed to be caused by the immune system wrongly attacking the pancreas where insulin is produced. So it's an autoimmune disease and this is a hard one
