Hi. My name is Dena. I have PBC.
I took this photo this morning after breakfast of my skin on my arms and hands. I also have these bruised and torn skin areas on my face, neck, and chest. I've mentioned before about having extreme itching and this is what I get when I scratch. I try to keep my fingernails cut short so I don't rip or

Help with Graves in remission and CT scan with iodinated contrast dye for breast cancer treatment. Can I take Carbimazole to prevent Graves.
I have been told I need a
mastectomy
and sentinel lymph nodes removed this is planned soon. I have also been told I need a CT scan with contrast with a high load of Iodine.

Hello <tentative wave> My name is Joh and I am 45 years old. When I was 19, I was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis but it turned out to be an issue with large cysts on my ovaries and I had a number of ovarian cystectomies /operative laparoscapies over the following couple of years. In

Feeling totally confused
I wonder if anyone could offer any advice? I’ve always had pretty heavy periods but they were fairly regular. I have an almost 10 year old but came off the pill 7 years ago to ttc number 2 - never had any success but was diagnosed with “unexplained secondary infertility”. Fast forward to last summer

First time posting...
Ok, so a bit about me...I was diagnosed with Endo almost 2 years ago now. It was kinda lucky. I'd had the usual chronic pain in the first couple of days of my period for about 1.5-2yrs and just assumed it was a natural thing with my periods (they'd previously been fine, bit of discomfort but not what

Pancreatitis & aggressive prostate cancer question.....
Hello to the wonderful men (and women!) out there, I’ve become acquainted with several of you on here & you've been most helpful, insightful & kind! Today I’m curious as to if any of you’ve experienced pancreatitis (during or after treatments, etc.), and how it impacted your cancer treatment plans. My

Bellybutton hernia post total gastrectomy
I am a lady of 63 years old. I had a total gastrectomy in July 2017 due to adenocarcinoma of stomach, diagnosed Stage 2B cancer due to pervasiveness in one of the 14 nodes removed. I also had 6 sessions of EOX Chemo and struggled with multiple side effects until December last. I had a pet scan in Jan

New to the Forum
In NOV 2017 I had a right
mastectomy
, and axillary clearance (x16 out of x18 nodes were affected), with immediate reconstruction. It was discovered that I had grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer HER2 negative.

Tamoxifen - side effects
I underwent a
mastectomy
on the right side (really wanted a total, but my surgeon refused). I am 63 and definately post-menopausal. They prescribed Tamoxifen as I could not tolerate Anastozole. I have opted out taking Tamoxifen because I hear so many bad things about it.

Blood in mouth
Hi, hubby is 18 months post total gastrectomy and 12 months post ECX chemo after the operation. In the last few weeks/months he has ocassionally woken to find a small quantity of blood on his pillow or shirt if he has fallen asleep in the chair. Unfortunately I haven’t been there when this has happened

Vulvar cancer
I know some women when they know they have the breast cancer gene have taken drastic action and gone for
mastectomy
. I'm feeling so lost right now. Has anyone gone through this?

Diagnosed and Lap within a week!
Hi guys! I had an MRI on 14th Feb for my sciatica and at the same time they noticed a 5cm cyst and possible endometriosis so got referred to a specialist the week after. After my first consultation my Dr told me lapatoscopy, hysteroscopy, die test to check my tubes and cystectomy were my best options

First Anniversary of diagnosis disappointment.
After Chemo,
mastectomy
surgery with full clearance and Radiotherapy which finished in October 2017 I was handed over to the nurses team for future follow up appointments. The Anniversary came around early this year and I was just given a mammogram appointment for my remaining breast in January.

My answer to Mastectomy
I was self conscious immediately after my
Mastectomy
but as I got used to it I noticed, in the pool, no one even noticed it. The biggest hurdle was Tamoxofin and its side effects. It did put me in touch with my feminine side.

Double vs single mastectomy
Hi There I went through chemo, single
mastectomy
and now going through radiation. Path reports came back clear after surgery, doing radiation as a precaution. 6 mos from now I am getting reconstruction. Still have option to get other breast removed if I want, even though there is no cancer there.

Second diagnosis
First diagnosis in 2009 - Left
mastectomy
and Tamoxifen. No chemo or radiotherapy. Diep flap reconstruction in 2014. Think I went into shock. Due for lumpectomy 31st Jan. First hospital appt - did not gel with the doc and I was a wreck until seeing the consultant yesterday.
