Gastroparesis treatment?
Gastroparesis seems to be common to PD. Yesterday I realized I hadn't eaten for 15 hours but still had food in my stomach. Rytary or Sinemet are amino acids. Stomach acids must break proteins into amino acids before they can exit the stomach and be absorbed into the blood stream. The same

elevated TSH since PD diagnoses
Since being diagnosed 2 years ago, my thyroid meds have been decreased 3 times. My most recent blood test had a jump in TSH from 2 to 14 which states I am once again under-medicated, but clinically I feel fine. Has anyone else had these fluctuations in blood results from an underactive thyroid? If

Basically my mom has been on the same sinemet dose since diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016 (1 sinemet every four hours and 1 azilect). So my moms doctor has prescribed nourianz and increased her sinemet from 1 tablet (25-100) every four hours to 1 1/2 tablet every four hours. Has anyone had success

PLEASE HELP! ARE YOU ON RYTARY AND YOUR MEDICATION SOMETIMES DOES NOT " KICK IN" IN THE MORNINGS?
Hi Kindly respond to this post if you use sinemet tablet as a bridge to make the Rytary work. If you do this, how much sinemet do you use? Will this method disrupt the functioning of Rytary as a slow release medication designed to work up to 3hours or more, on the long run leading to motor fluctuations

Nausea and vomiting
Does anyone else experience nausea and vomiting after taking their Sinemet?. I can’t figure out what triggers it and cannot predict when it happens. Had to leave a dinner party Saturday night after hanging over the toilet. It is so embarrassing.

Is there an alternative treatment to Sinemet ?
My husband has been on Sinemet since July and there hasn’t been any improvement whatsoever. He’s constantly dizzy and his consultant told him in a phone appointment that dizziness is always caused by low blood pressure, but last week he went to his gp because it was so bad. He had his BP checked sitting

Mucuna puriens 1000mg
My new neurologist suggested I try mucuna puriens 1000 mg. because of side effects of sinemet ER 25/100 which I take at night. I also take Asian herbs prescribed by my acupuncturist which contains some levodopa three times a day. I took one 1000 MP capsule and my blood pressure and pulse shot up and

MRigFUS in Switzerland - 9 months update
If i wrote this post 3 days ago, i probably wouldn’t be so positive about it, it was an hard day, with difficult controlling tremor most of the day. But it was a bad day among very good days. Today was a virtually no tremor day. I got used to this roller coaster now, but i had a quite pleasant but also

Typical med progression?
My friend started taking l-dopa within the past year. She works fulltime and her workplace isn't aware of her diagnosis. Currently she's taking 8 Sinemet 100mg daily, plus 3 or 4 Rytary 145mg. She also takes sleeping medication, and botox for curled toes. She's reading articles on DBS. Any advice

Testosterone and PD
I have learned many helpful things on this forum, so in the hope that it will prove helpful to others I thought I would share my positive experience with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Obviously, TRT is relevant primarily to male PWPs and their caregivers, but there may be equivalent hormone

Selegiline and Zandopa
My neurologist prescribed me selegiline a month ago and It helped me with tremor and movement. I also take Zandopa and sinemet. Yesterday 1.5 hours after taking zandopa, I started having severe headache, and my blood pressure raised to 225. I also vomited 4 times. It calmed down after an hour and blood

Dizziness
My husband is newly diagnosed with MSA and is on Sinemet x3 daily. So far the medication doesn’t seem to be helping, he’s been on it just over four weeks. Also, the symptom that seems to cause the most problems is dizziness which he has all the time. Is the Sinemet likely to help that or should he see

Help Needed! Selegiline?
I am on Sinemet/ Zandopa 4 times a day, including 3 times during the day and 1 before bedtime. It works well for me so far, during Sinemet on- time, I am pretty much symptom free ( although it only lasts for about 2 hours). I also take it right before bedtime, so I can have few hours of comfortable sleep

Supplement recommendations
My father was diagnosed 4 years ago with PD.... 2 years before me. His symptoms are very different from mine. Both of us are LRRK2 positive. He is taking Sinemet 25/100 4 x a day. His apathy is by far the most bothersome non motor symptom... well at least to the family it is..... He will not exercise
