Will the tooth fairy visit?
Well ....finally had my tooth out today at a London hospital. ( because of taking alendronic acid it had to be a dental surgeon) I was gowned up and a cloth put over my eyes which was quite disorientating. Took 40 mins to get the b....y thing out and I got a bit sweaty and shaky. I’d been told to double

Trying to deny what is real
One of the things I value more than anything else is honesty, I hate deceit. That makes this post so hard to type. When I was in hospital last year one of the biggest issues we processed was growing up in a family where my Dad and an older brother were pedophiles. Even typing that is hard. Unfortunately

Half-term running 🚴🏻♂️🏃♀️
Pre-run faffage today included: prising my son away from Captain Underpants; getting him to put on his underpants and other attire; a bit of grumbling; pumping up bicycle tyres; raising the seat; administering first aid and comfort to child when he braked using only the front brake on a downhill with

Rescue required
Been nursing a slightly grumbly knee for a while, but it’s generally been fine if I don’t stray far beyond 10k. Found myself on a lane in the middle of nowhere today, about the furthest point from home, when it finally gave up. Slight grumble became full on pain, and when I walked for a bit I found

Don't Get A Respiratory Infection !
Wow, I just read the post from the poor guy who is suffering so badly with a cold. Those of us with heart failure and AFib have to be extremely careful not to catch something. I've had an auto-immune lung disease for 30 years, and now since I have AFib and heart failure, I have to be even more careful

Continuous Periods
So over the last three to four years I've been suffering with continuous bleeding. There are small gaps, for example I've been on my period in some form for 3 months now, I had a five day gap last week but still spotted lightly. I've had lost medication in the past to treat it, the pill, Tranexamic

Liver drug trialled in Parkinson’s patients in UK trial
Clinical trial will assess the safety and tolerability in Parkinson’s patients to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) – a drug which is hoped could potentially be re-positioned to help slow down the progression of the disease https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/news/nr/liver-drug-trialled-in-parkinsons-patients-1.828628

Challenging diagnosis of thyroid hormone resistance initially as Hashimoto's thyroiditis
We have many times had discussions here about how difficult it can be to be certain of thyroid diagnoses. This is a short paper which highlights one instance. Can sleeping tablets make sleep apnea worse?
Hi all, just had a quick question - can herbal sleeping tablets worsen sleep apnea? I am not actually diagnosed with it yet, but strongly suspect that that a what's happening. Took some herbal sleep aid last night and as soon as I was drifting off I would stop breathing every time. Woke myself up a few

Cost of urso. Where can I order it?
I live in the US. My insurance covers the Ursodiol and my cost had been $10 a month. It is still covered, but my cost jumped to $191!. I used a Good Rx coupon and got it down to $146, but that's just not sustainable. I take 300mg 2x's a day. Does anyone know of a reliable Canadian pharmacy from which

Spanish study using TUDCA and the other NAC, Vitamin E, and alpha-lipoic acid
I’m sure many have stumbled on the two separate Spanish studies using TUDCA and the other NAC, Vitamin E, and alpha-lipoic acid. I’ve tried each for awhile, however stopped. It is very difficult to try and do a study on yourself. Has anyone had any success/results?
