AF & AV node ablation confusion
Hi,So I have had pace n ablate, pacemaker dependent also have HF. Does anyone know if you can still be in AF after AV node ablation and pacemaker dependent? I was informed by a doctor after a recent visit to A&E that due to AV node ablation and being dependent on a pacemaker that AF shouldn't occur

Ahhhh well, I guess it could be worse!
A while back, I was seen by a lady at the pain clinic, who said that I have ‘Scoliosis convex to the right with minor anterior vertebral body height loss at T12, L3 and L4. Disc space narrowing at the lumbosacral level with hypertrophy of the lower lumbar facet joints’. The pain is really intense,

BP Home Machines
Hi, I know that home blood pressure machines are inaccurate when measuring whilst in arrhythmia, but does that just refer to the heart rate and not the actual BP? Thanks

Pressure on mid back causing AF to come on.
I was diagnosed with af maybe 4 years ago. Because mefications made me unwell i was finally fitted with a pacemaker in prepation for AV node ablation. Once the pm was fitted i was able to forgo the node ablation. In the last few months ive been getting especially at night short breathed and coughing

CRT-P
I am due to have a CRT-P implant and an AV node ablation. If others out there have had this I would like to know what is what like and did it improve their quality of life. It is so difficult to ask the professionals question, so left feeling very nervous about these procedures.. All the posts are

Advise with exercise and heart problems.
I now have bradycardia and

. When the symptoms get bad I have chest pain and a missing heart beat. My pulse goes down to the middle 30s. To add to that I have been caring for family members who have had cancer and died and who have had heart attacks that have nearly died.

Details around flecainide organising atrial fibrillation into an atrial tachy
Does anyone have any details around how/when this occurs and is it just a case of living with it? The nurses suggested I could try increasing flec from 50mg twice a day to 100mg, but if the flec causes the issues, I'm wondering if it would make things worse? I was put onto bisoprolol because of this

Sometimes the solution is simple !
Getting through the winter isn’t isn’t easy, is it friends ? This one was a long one and once the spring is on its way my energy levels, enthusiasm and motivation get going and life opens up again. It didn’t happen this year though. Asthma COPD for 21 years….was it all getting to the body ? No energy

Small thyroid gland question......
What does it mean if your Free Thyroxine is low (10.8 pmol/L - 12 - 22 R ) and your Thyroid is small ? My Dr is telling me he is unable to except my recent private blood tests which is annoying as I sent bloods of to MediChecks only this morning to check my Thyroid Antibodies which are normally

Anxiety & Heart failure
hello all. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for ages. My anxiety has been much worse in the past few years. Now I’ve been diagnosed with heart failure and can’t tell when my chest pain is because of my anxiety or my heart. Anyone out there on same boat? 😬🤔

aortic valve stenosis
In 2022 I had a hip replacement following covid infection as it affected the synovial hip fluid and was then alerted to the fact that there was a problem with my aortic valve. I need to have aortic valve replacement and am currently on the waiting list. In my first consultation the cardiologist said

Sir Ranulph Fiennes
If you are interested he is on the National Geographical channel tonight at 8pm This of course is the man that after his heart bypass ran 7 marathons in seven days in seven different countries . I must admit he was a great inspiration to me when I was feeling very sorry for myself after my triple bypass

pacemaker
There is a forum, I think, for pacemaker discussion, however I couldn't figure out how to ask question on that forum. Many of you have pacemakers so maybe you can answer my question. My pacemaker is working about 85% of the time and keeps my heart rate at 60bpm. Lately I have been getting extremely

pacing wires
anyone had pacing wires poking up under the skin , I had one that came out completely and now I’ve got another one that’s poking up but that’s being taken out or cut short in a weeks time at the hospital . They can be quite painful at times when I’m working Anyone else had the same issue Oh for information

Is AF HF ?
Hi. I have a questionnaire to fill in prior to a cardiac MRI which asks if I suffer from heart failure (HF). I thought HF was a generic term but on reading a post on this forum I am confused/wrong . My cardiologist tells me I am in permanent AF with an ejection fraction of 42%. He has not mentioned

Does persistent/constant afib lower the heart ejection fraction?
Newbie question - it hadn’t even occurred to me but if one (aka my husband) has persistent/constant afib (and he has constant atrial flutter also we think) will that most likely impact the heart ejection fraction? I mean now I think about it it seems logical that if the heart isn’t contracting and

Statins
I had a call from my GP surgery about taking statins.Apparently my cholesterol is okay but I have a 38% risk of having a stroke or heart attack. Even though I take anticoagulant statins work in a different way and are recommended for me as I am in persistent afib I do not want to take statins but wondered

CBD (thc free) for pain relief
I’ve had a Triple Heart Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair. Before that I had a Lumber Spinal Laminectomy (which only worked for about 4 months). I’ve since also been diagnosed with Heart Failure so pain relief is very difficult. The Spinal Stenosis is now severe all down the Lumbar Region. I was given
