I need advice about AFIB and travels
Hello everyone, It's been a while since my last post. I'm planning to go on holiday to Costa Rica next March but I'm not very confident because the trouble with fibrillation is that you don't know when it's coming on. My attacks are usually 8 months apart and next March it will be 8 months since my

Is this AFib?
Is this AFib? Background: 67 year old white male never smoked, never used drugs, reasonable weight, active and exercise routinely. Only medication is lowest dose of Rosuvastatin (Crestor) The only bad thing is I am a heavy caffeine drinker. (Coke) I've read the symptoms, and I do not have shortness

Is there a relationship between AFib and high blood pressure
When in AFib can it raise your blood pressure or can high blood pressure trigger AFib. In April/May last year I was I told I had possible AFib after starting palpitations which didn't abate and subsequent 24hr ECG and Echocardigram . Also had a raise BNP. I was perscribed bisoprol by my GP but it

NSVT or atrial flutter?
Do PVCs feel different to PACs? I'm getting short runs of ectopic beats (often 4 in a row), which I think might be NSVT. I'm used to experiencing AF, which feels light and chaotic compared to sinus rhythm, but these recent short runs feel more forceful than AF, and also feel regular - could they be ventricular

AFIB BP STRUGGLERS
All, I have never taken this drug but I have taken Amiodorone before. And you're right. It is awful so my dr took me off it. I am taking Propafenone now. I was to take 3 150mg per day. I did and felt horrible. So I started reducing it myself and I have found that 1 pill split into 2 does works

Hi, I was diagnosed with AF in July last year and put onto Apixaban and Bisoprolol. I then really struggled walking anywhere with breathlessness and although I was Asymptomatic before being diagnosed I wasn’t breathless at all ( AF found during routine pulse test by Nurse). I was advised to carry on

Afib, alcohol and caffeine!
I’m interested in peoples Afib triggers, specifically how you are with alcohol and caffeine? I can honestly say that two to three cups of coffee and a couple of pints of beer a day don’t appear to cause me any issues? What does, however is late eating, over eating and any kind of indigestion! Without

Had my heart stress test at the Bristol Heart Institute this week to discover why I've started having episodes of breathlessness/pressure on exertion. The plan was to use an exercise bike to increase my heart rate ti 128 bpm then use ultrasound echocardiogram and ECG to look at my heart, Before I'd even

Permanent AF?
The day has finally come where I went to hospital with sudden onset AF to be told that they won’t do anything. I’m to stay on my meds, flecainide and bisoprolol and to go back if I get severe symptoms. They have said a resting heart rate of 130 is fine because I am haemodynamically stable. I am ( still

Atrial fibrillation
Does anyone get breathlessness after atrial fibrillation? My dad recently had a stroke and was in atrial fibrillation since then he's been quite breathless on small amounts of exercise that's worrying Especially the fact he would never before tell us if he was unwell and trys to dodge going to the doctors

Discomfort in chest area
I'm coping with PAF but does anyone feel like I do: i feel a 'discomfort' in my chest area, its hard to describe, it feels like it's 'trying' to flutter but doesn't start? Just a bit uncomfortable - i kinda feel it in my throat? I know what palpitations are like - they've been suppressed for 6 weeks

I consider myself lucky
I guess I am one of the lucky one's. I had all three shots, didn't feel good for a couple of days, but I have had worse. The new flu shot for senior bothered me more the Cd shots. 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with A Fib. But on meds, Eliquis, heart meds. But I had a 100 pounds of fluid around me

When Do Your AFIB triggers actually cause reaction?
First, I want to thank everyone here for all the wonderful information you have provided over time, it has helped me immensely in so many ways. There seems to be a lot of discussion about things that trigger AFIB, like chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, etc. My question is: After you consume the "offender

Digoxin
I was over medicated for years. Toprol xl, digoxin, and other medications for Afib, and flutters. I am 73 years old and they have reduced my digoxin to .125mg of digoxin…. From three times that amount. Since they have learned over the years that over medicating with digoxin above .125mg is a problem
