Funding of drugs and clinical trials.
Can anyone explain to me the role that pharmaceutical companies play in deciding which drugs are funded by a particular country? From what I can see individual agencies within each country bargain with them to get drugs at the lowest possible price. I would also like to know what part those companies

Protect-V trial
I have vasculitis GPA and have regular infusions of rituximab which is an immunosuppressant. On a recent trip to Addenbrookes (Cambridge Hospital) to see my consultant they signed me up to take part in the Protect-V clinical trial. An anti covid vaccine. Anyone else here involved in that trial or any

Persistent Afib - next stop Amiodorone
Following a short-lived success with cardioversion, my EP has prescribed Amiodarone 200mg daily. So not a massive dose. The waiting list for ablation is long, so this is a stop gap. And a lot of the drugs prescribed for paroxysmal AF are not much help for persistent AF - at least not as an antiarythmic

Stopping Firmagon if castration resistant
The cocktail of painkillers plus Radium 223 is making me very tired at the moment. This may seem like a daft question but what is the position with continuing or stopping Firmagon when you're castration resistant? Is its purpose to control the spread of testosterone that would otherwise make the cancer

ADA (American Dental Association) protocol on being premedicated before Dental Appointments
Hi All, Since there is so much confusion on whether or not you need antibiotics before a Dental appointment, I decided to send the site (updated January 5, 2022) on the ADA protocol for premedication before an appointment. Im so fed up with the constant SVTs and PACs
Hi everyone... Had successful ablation for AFib and AF in 2016. Ok until last August when all these weird arrythmias suddenly started happening. I assumed it was AFibbut it was different, getting a week to 2 weeks of almost constant palpitations 24/7. Been to A&E 3 times, they weren't bothered. Been

PSMA Scan post Ra223 treatments
No huge win from his recent treatment is discernable. The doctor (RO) says there's no way of knowing if it won him any extra time. However, we can only assume things might have been worse without it.
