I had 3 ablations at MUSC to address PVC’s and ARVC, got an ICD after that, then developed AFib followed by an atrial ablation and finally a cardioversion to fix atrial flutter a month after the shocker. I’ve felt fine through all of this - asymptomatic all along. I’m 70 and was a runner for 22 years

CIRRHOSIS & BREAST CANCER?
My husband, now 84 has been on and off here since his cirrhosis diagnosis post AIH January 2014. He has gone from compensated to decompensated with a 6 month prognosis back to compensated, problems with a large portal vein thrombosis and varices but otherwise remarkably fit and pretty stable. However

I have just read a 'Healthline' publication dated January 2023 about the long term effects of blood thinners and anticoagulants. I am a bit concerned with the content of this article and would like members of our group opinions. The article stated that there was no reversal agent for Riveroxaban and

Stroke Prevention Day
The Stroke Association are highlighting the link between AF and the possibility of a stroke. I can echo that, as I was cardio fit with none of the other risks from weight, smoking, drinking, but I had AF and I was not prescribed an anticoagulant. On 6 July 2016 I had a stroke. The following words

why a stress test?
Been a while cause all has been “quiet.” I have been taking Flecainide 50 twice a day, Eliquis 5 twice a day, metoprolol 15 in am and 12.5 in evening. It’s been a year. Occasional blip but nothing to talk about really. I’m 66, female, and exercise aerobically 4-5 times a week. Sleep and eat well, work

Sleeping aid with Afib.
Just curious to see what you folks that have problems going to sleep have been prescribed to help and not affect your Afib. I've tried, Benadryl, valarian, clemastine, and meletonin and they either aggravate my afib or just don't work. I might need to have a doctor call in a prescription as the over

Thanks for your earlier support for my 1st ablation. But now more questions.
I had my catheter ablation for Afib Dec. 30th. I went in with NSR, succesful ablation according to my Surgeon, and woke up in NSR. Yay!! Not so fast. In just 2 days I was walking around and doing light work, Yay! But here's the thing, on Jan. 7 at 6pm I went into Afib and it has continued even

Help! New Symptoms after recent cardioversion.
Hi! Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me! I began AFib in 2020. I have had four cardioversions the last one was last Thursday. I was taken to A and E when I went into fast AFib with a heart rate between 160-180. Last summer I was also diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy… Bristol

Confused on meds/ablation….again!
Hi all Brief recap- successful ablation June 21 but have replaced with ectopics. Having stopped alcohol and cigarettes , both were minimal, my EP suggested stopping flecinaide and to have the holter to see what was happening. I did and the result was runs of paroxysmal atrial tachycardia and one

is it normal not to see a cardiologist with AF?
Sorry, folks, I keep coming back with more questions! 8 weeks ago I ended up in A&E with a self limiting episode of AF. I think it lasted about 45 mins. It was the weekend and I saw the A&E docotor and the on call consultant from the medical side (who wasn’t a cardiologist). I was started on Bisoprolol

Procedure for Morbidly Obese with AFIB
I’ve had AFIB for about 6 years now and am morbidly obese. Up until I got Covid a year ago, I was very well controlled on propafenone plus Bystolic. I can always tell when I go into or out of AFIB and have an app on my phone that confirms this. A couple of months ago I had the worse constant attack

any brand of 12.5 tablet other than teva
hi all I’ve discovered I have an adverse reaction to the mannitol in teva 12.5. The thyroid U.K. website says no other brand make this size. Is that correct please?

Should I take aspirin 300 mgs at home if I think I may be having a stroke despite being on an anticoagulant for atrial fibrillation?
The chances of getting an NHS CT head scan quickly enough to decide whether it’s safe to give clot busting drugs aren’t so good at the moment. I think a cerebral embolus may still be more likely than a cerebral haemorrhage, so aspirin seems logical. Maybe I’ll ask my GP ….. I should say I’m not having

useful video from ‘my hero’ on atrial fibrillation and the different treatment methods used and when (including surgery)
an interview with steven hunter, cardio thoracic surgeon . I am now 8 months post surgery and still in NSR, hoping to follow in the shoes of the other once persistent mr Hunter patients on here who have been afib free for a long time. I wanted to share for those in persistent who don’t want to manage

GOING FORWARD
Yesterday I met with my EP for my two week follow up. The follow up is for my failed cardioversion. They tried three times to Shockett with no NSR. Yesterday was to be about what’s next. My body responds to things usually but does not stay for very long. I had a typical flutter up until two weeks ago

Dare I state that a homeopathic medicine stopped my AFib attacks!!!
How can a simple homeopathic medicine stop my AFib attacks that were getting more severe and much more prolonged prompting admissions to a+e, despite taking conventional medication to treat it? I myself cannot answer this question. In all honesty I don't think anyone on this site could answer it neither

Father not waking up after septic shock
My beloved Dad (72) survived a severe septic shock. They called us 3 Weeks ago after a routine bile surgery and told us that he is now in the ICU. They told us he had internal bleeding and they needed to perform surgery on him. We were shocked and prayed that night that everything would go well. He survived
