Advice on iron status
Hi lovely people, I was hoping to get some advice on my iron status. A bit of background, I have just recently increased levo to 88mcg a couple of weeks ago, and was on 75mcg before that. So, I am aware that my thyroid hormone is still too low. It's a slow process getting docs to increase! My question

Iron levels
Had an awesome break through with a locum GP who checked my iron levels, found them to be low and gave me Ferrous Sulphate. It’s worked wonders. Yay! However, three months in and my normal GP has asked me to go for another blood test to check my iron levels now and won’t give me further ferrous sulphate

So nervous
Hi guys, coming to ask you guys a question but so afraid of a bad answer. You wouldn't believe how I've been shaking and feeling so nervous and worried and not sleeping about my stomach. I've been having this little pin like mild aches in my stomach and these test you have to get with PA drives me up

blood test-nutrients advice
Hi everyone! First of all, I have to say thank you. This is my first time posting, but I've been lurking around here for a while now and I have already learnt so much from this forum! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Nov 2021 and put on 25mcg levothyroxine. It has been a slow battle to get doctors

Enlarged Left Atrial
Hi I am having an optional plastic surgery. My Heam said it was fine. My preop EKG stated that while my EKC is consistant with the last time I had one, I also "possibly" have an enlarged left atrial. Huh. I have a 1st degee block that has not progressed but this is new. Has anyone ever heard of that?

Can anyone help with iron panel interpretation please
This is a friend’s recent iron panel Posted a couple of days ago but hoping for a better response this time I’ve looked on rT3 adrenals where it says a low transferrin level indicates a lack of capacity for supplemental iron. I really don’t understand this when it’s clear her whole panel is low,

Ups and downs update
I finally received a phone call from my GP who was incredibly nice and friendly. But…… she wasn’t prepared to act on the advice I quoted from both NHS and NICE that as I was still suffering from pins and needles I needed every other day B12 injections until there was no further improvement. After

Blood Results
Hello, I am wondering if anyone can Help me to try and understand what is going on with my blood test results. I have always had low ferritin in single figures and after years of low B12 I was eventually in March 21 put on B12 injections every 3 months for life . The ferritin improved slowly but my

Visit to Haematology Dept.
This morning I had a appointment to see the consultant haematologist at Scarborough Hospital, the first I have seen for about 3 years, the was because my total white blood count & Lymphocyte count had shot up from my April blood test, she examined me and took more blood, the results were a lot better

symptoms with treated PA
Hello forum Autoimmune Metaplastic Atrophic Gastritis (AMAG) results in the loss of parietal cells which causes a loss of production of stomach acid and intrinsic factor (IF). The loss of IF results in low B12. My general query is; are there consequences and symptoms connected to a lack of stomach

Some results, at last
I had some blood sent for Next Generation Sequencing back in March, I’ve been waiting for the results. Consultant phoned this afternoon, he says I am now post ET MF or words to that effect! My platelets are currently 559, I’m on one capsule of Anagrelide twice a day. I was extremely anaemic and after

Vitamins
Hi allI posted here last week my vitamin test results from medichecks. My active B12 and folate were low so as per advice on the forum I have held off supplementing until my GP tests for pernicious anaemia. My mother had PA and I certainly do have some symptoms of B12 deficiency. I'm due to get my bloods

I am very fortunate that I can pop down to P.A. Society Head Quarters to lend a hand. I did this morning. There are 4 volunteers helping the small amount of staff run the organisation . The person there today was inundated when I rocked up. As they are everyday. We could talk for weeks but I said, ‘No
