A big hooray for a good asthma nurse!
Today I had the first proper-ish annual asthma review for two years. Last year I was vaguely triaged for one, and was fine, but by now issues had cropped up, especially my new, strange AAP, but also having had a few incidents in the last few months. This nurse, who I have met before, was great! Some

Weaning off inhalers
Hi there, I was diagnosed with asthma last year and had lung function tests recently. I got a letter from the consultant saying that I don’t have asthma and to wean off the inhalers. I appreciate that I shouldn’t ask for medical advice here but I haven’t a clue how to do this. I’m currently on flutiform

Meds, chocolate and migraines
I’m kicking myself... I’ve always been a chocoholic, so in my 30’s (pre RA), I munched away merrily on chocolate, I suffered awful headaches really, really bad ones and they’d last for days, weeks even. I also had hay fever, so put these headaches down to allergic rhinitis. Took antihistamine and paracetamol

Asthma flare after covid vaccine
Has anyone had an asthma flare up after a covid vaccine (astrazeneca)? It could be complete coincidence, but my asthma is being an absolute pain and not responding as well as normal to ventolin (though interestingly is responding to extra formoterol). I am wondering if there's a link, as my asthma

So Scared
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with radiation enteritis and I am too scared to eat. The doctor told me I need a 3rd stoma and he wouldn’t listen to my concerns. He discharged me because I wouldn’t have a 3rd stoma and refused to give me any diet advice or refer me to a nutritionist. I worry if my

Asthma Meds Reduction?
Hi everyone. I have been on one puff of Symbicort 200/6 for over a year now, and my asthma seems very well controlled. I saw my specialist today and he remarked that I could try stopping the med all together, ie not taking the puff at night anymore. I am a little scared to do so, having this idea that

You know the history asthma, not asthma, asthma, not asthma... breathing pattern disorder (BPD) anxiety... (well that bit I was confident it was not) long covid, freak, alien whatever 🤷♀️. Very long and dramatic as always.. but short version (I'll try) 😆 2nd opinion yesterday 🙄 mannitol doesn't

Late asthma diagnosis + regular low peak flow
Hi all, hope you are well. I was diagnosed with asthma last year just after the pandemic kicked off, as such it's been quite an isolating experience getting support. It started off with me getting chest tightness, in particular at night, as well as wheezing. Was given blue inhaler over phone by GP not

Alternatives to Montelukast
I have seasonal
allergic
asthma
and take antihistamine plus on blue and brown inhaler. My breathing was very much improved on the Montelukast but the side effects were terrible. Appreciate any advice 💗👍

Hi all I am struggling a bit at the moment and i am tending to overthink things with my asthma. Not that long ago i had a CT scan on my lungs to see if there was anybother damage to my lungs other than some slight scarring on the bottom of my lungs and thankfully all was ok and my bloods were all ok

Obstructive asthma or Asthma - COPD overlap - confused
Hi I have posted on here about my overuse of Salbutamol and my GP practice asthma nurse wanting to stop it! Big red flag and a lot of stress for me. Anyway long story short agreed to further investigations and tests. Peak flow best is 250 - 200 I feel ok on this with help of salbutamol in the day.

ANXIETY SUFFERERS - WHICH INHALER? Asthma/COPD
Hi All, I suffer from anxiety issues and formoteral (Fostair, Symbicort) seems to make this worse, if you suffer from anxiety, which inhaler do you take for asthma/COPD? Been around the houses with most inhalers and can not find the right one without horrible symptoms! Please help if you can. Thanks

the dreaded ca125 check......
It’s now 4 years since my initial diagnosis of stage 3b PPC/Ovarian cancer. I’ve been suffering from stomach pains since my stomach reversal in September 2019, and recently had a colonoscopy which was normal and am now awaiting a contrast follow through X-ray. As I’m sure you can imagine, this increases

Allergy and asthma?
I know
allergic
asthma
is a thing, but I'm confused about why ventolin would stop the apparent allergy symptoms (rather than just treating the asthma)? I just wondered whether anyone has experience with similar symptoms and if this could be linked to asthma?

Allery test & CLL
Hi All. I'm newly diagnosed and new to this group. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with allergies. Six years ago, I took an allergy skin test that was positive for just about every tree, grass, mites, dust etc. I took the same test about a month ago and had a completely negative test
