Paradoxical reaction to neuroactive substances
I stumbled across something interesting tied to brain structure and ADHD- Paradoxical reaction to neuroactive substances. Basically, as a result of the different signal processing of ADHD brain, certain substances (drugs) may result in paradoxical reactions. The classic example of the effect of stimulants

Does this look like lupus rash?
Hi everyone. I started with a flat purple rash last Tuesday. It’s spread across my stomach and down the front of my thighs. Then a more sporadic raised rash started on shoulders, back, and then my hands and arms on Friday evening. The first marks on upper body looked like I’d scratched the skin. Yesterday

Asthma attack - school says no more rowing
My 14-year-old son had a serious asthma attack post-exercise in school. Paramedics were called and he recovered after receiving nebulizer treatment. Now, he has been told he no longer will be allowed to have a seat in his rowing team, alternatively he is allowed to cox. He is devastated. I am trying

ET JAK2+ - Could this be progressing and how do I obtain more information/support?
I've have had several consultants (it seems that heamatology has been a revolving door one in one out for years at my hospital) since my diagnosis and I feel like I am getting nowhere. My background is that I was diagnosed ET Jak2+ 10 years ago, after a lengthy battle with Drs over symptoms - they kept

Overmedicated for Graves
Good morning , Please if you can could you help advise me how to ease some of my symptoms .I will be very grateful . On my last blood test my TSH increased from 0.32 to 3.47 and it is assumed by the Endo that I’m over medicated. I was for 10 weeks on 10 mg of Carbimazole and the dose was reduced from

Antihistamines
How long do I have to wait, after levo, to take antihistamines? I had been taking them in the afternoon without an issue, but in these last 2-3 weeks that is too long to wait.

Is it discoid lupus?
Hi fellow lupus warriors I posted a few weeks ago about an ulcer on my leg that wouldn't heal. After oral antibiotics that had no effect, the Dr found a stronger antibiotic cream that cleared up the infection. Hooray! But in the meantime I keep getting more bumps. I thought it was a coincidence,

Hypothyroidism
Hello, I haven’t felt like myself for over a year, started with acid reflux, swelling of hands, feet, eyes and cheeks then itchy skin, fatigue, slow movement, low mood. GP agreed to do blood test, nothing came up except high cholesterol. GP prescribed statins for high cholesterol, antihistamine for swelling

Hay fever medicines
I continue to have badly blocked ears and a runny nose for several weeks. I’ve only managed to see paramedics rather than a GP about it. I haven’t used any nasal sprays (other than saline) but would like to try anti-allergy medication such as antihistamine. Yet I’ve read that “A few common stimulating
