Nytol
Hello, I am 22 years old, in the middle of exams, with stress-related insomnia. Scared of not getting enough sleep. I have zopiclone, but I don't want to take it unless I have an extreme insomnia episode (eg 48hr of no sleep). I was offered Nytol by my GP, the classical once a night formula. I also

Zopiclone for insomnia...
I am in the middle of university exams and have been having periodic bouts of severe insomnia. Today, I had 4-5 hours of sleep before and exam because of it. I have been prescribed zopiclone to help me deal with this, but I really don't like taking it, due to it being addictive and the horrific taste

A small journey... and a tip to share
Hello, my first time to post here. I am a 55y old male, doing rounds with various consultants to see why I have random joint pains primarily. I also have numbness and cold feeling in my extremities. My ANA and dsDNA are the ones that the Neuro picked up on and has referred me to Rheumatology as he

Zopiclone Taper/Withdrawal
I’ve been on Zopiclone for about 4 years now and have slowly upped the dose because they were becoming less effective. I’m currently on 60 mg a night, sometimes I wake in the night and top it up with 2 to 3 7.5mg tablets. I’m always fine the next day but I know they’re not good for me. I was thinking

Hi Until December last I was taking 40 mg iron bisglycinate with orange juice every two days. Since this had little impact on my RLS I increased the iron dose to 40mg every day from December until now. As yet I have noticed little change to my RLS symptoms. A blood test this month showed my ferritin

Cold Turkey Update
Some of you are familiar with my story so far so I will make this brief. Three years ago I was taking 6mg Pramepexole. It took me nearly three years to taper the dose down to 1.25. My idiotic Neurologist said he would no longer treat me unless I stoped taking Pramipexole. He writes my prescriptions

sleep DEPRIVED
Hi everyone, Hope you are all well. I have spoken about this issue before in my previous posts and was given a lot of advice on what I can do to help me sleep. A little background: In January I started my full time 6mths placement (training) as a pharmacy student or a trainee. This is my second

Best advice sometimes? Telling your GP a white lie can go a long way!
You're very lucky to have been prescribed pregabalin, an opioid, and sleeping pills. You have a generous doctor. Pregabalin is great for insomnia, by itself - I'd ask for an increased dose now personally, seeing as the zopiclone has been stopped. 300mg of preg is a standard dose.Personally I'm cursed

Ferritin and TSI results.
Hi, I haven’t posted for a while as I have been investigated following a positive faecal occult blood test. They have found a large polyp in my caecum which I am having removed on Friday. For some unknown reason, I have had a few months of remission from my RLS but now they are ‘kicking off’ again.

6 weeks after surgery - am I doing ok?
Hi all, Had a pretty tricky last few months, was diagnosed with endocarditis at the start of November (had been feeling ill for a few weeks before), the infection responded well to IV antibiotics over a 6 week period so that was a positive. However due to several other developments I also needed

Pain management and antidepressants/anxiolitics
I vaguely recall reading about how some members experienced some pain relief from particular antidepressants and/or anxiolics. Can anyone tell me if there are particular ones you are aware of used successfully for pain management? I am in my 4th year of PMR. A few setbacks. Suffer insomnia terribly.

Anxiety - yes that old hat!
Ok, hi all and I know many have brought up this subject and I know many suffer. But I'd like to hear from you on how to cope and what works for you. Also to hear from those who have had T for a few years and how they coped in the early stages - I'm 3.5 months in and not really coping. I have been on

The problem with Buprenorphine, BTBD9 and serotonin syndrome
This is for those of you who are really struggling with the remedies for RLS. Apologies for not referencing all my research but I’ve been completely wiped out for weeks now. However I wanted to share some insights I’ve had recently and hope it inspires thoughts and research. Adenosine is a chemical

BUPRENORPHINE SUBLINGUAL BREAKDOWN AFTER 9 MONTHS TOTAL TREATMENT SUCCESS.
A week ago I titrated from the very successful 0.6 mg Buprenorphine sublingual I’d been on for 9 months during which time my PLMS disappeared completely. But they returned 7 days or so back so with my doctors’ reluctant support the dosage was increased to 2 x 0.4 tablets = 0.8. Five nights at the

what to do? Take .25mg Pramipexole and 7.5mg zopiclone for 2 or 3 nights? Or not?
Cannabis isnt effective atm so I need a 5 day break. Being sleep deprived from RL and insomnia just now is awful. I can't see my doctor to discuss methadone till after New Year. What to do? Doctor prescribed .25mg Pramipexole to try, but I'm too worried about augmentation to take these. BUT....I'm exhausted
