Problems with constant urge to urinate…
I am a 68 year old male who, 5 weeks ago, developed a constant urge to pee. After 2 or 3 days it seemed that the problem didn’t seem to be shifting, so I visited my GP surgery, and was given tests on my prostate gland. These took the form a physical rectal examination, and some PSA blood tests, and

Casodex and Zoladex helping symptoms, before any other treatment, is this positive?
Hi all, My dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer with gleason 4+5. He started on Casodex pill 3 weeks ago and had his first zoladex injection 1 week ago. Prior to starting casodex and zoladex my father was in a lot of pain. However, within a few weeks of just casodex he

Latest Pylarify clear with PSA at 4
I just had my 3rd PSMA-PET, and was relieved but surprised that it was totally clear. I had expected mets similar to my 1st one which was also run at a PSA of 4. BTW, the Axumin scan was clear at that time. I've been on an ADT/Zytiga vacation for about 18 months. My PSA did become undetectable for

PSA rising during triplet therapy. What to ask the oncologist?
Hello to this wonderfully helpful community, my dad's initial PSA was extremely high (3103), so I don't know what to expect. The treatment has been going for four months and a half since ADT (2 months and a half since Zytiga and Docetaxel was added). He started ADT on December, Zytiga and Docetaxel

Latest update
I did a PSMA PET Scan Mar.31th and received the results today. I used Google translate and I hope this makes sense. 1. A metastasis-suspected PSMA-positive lymph node medially for the iliac externa vessels on the left side. 2. No evidence of PSMA-positive local recurrence or PSMA-positive metastases

PSA and Covid
I’ve read a few times that PSA can become elevated for several months post Covid. Is this for real or just wishful thinking? Has anyone actually experienced this?

Adding TurkeyTail (or other Mushrooms) to my current treatment
I'm a 70 year old, healthy person who has faced no major health issues (or addressed them quickly.) I'm retired and live alone. After pushing for PSA test, I had 6 in 6/22 and 20 in 8/22. Biopsy in 9/22 showed Gleason 4+5=9 and classified as stage 4. Bone scan and Cat showed small metastices in spine

Thank you for all your helpful info on using Xtandi .
Here is what I have determined. My PSA has been pretty accurate in determining my cancer. My oncologist recommended SBRT, since I had 4 tumors in my bones, following up with Lupron/Xtandi:. However, he was ok with me just taking Lupron. He did no urge me to take the Xtandi . For me, the less medications

Why do we stop treatment
I have to post my experience of having once stopped treatment. I see various posts here with guys asking about stopping their treatments. I started treatment when I was 52 years old. ADT, Chemo and radiation. After treatment PSA went to undetectable. After 2 years with undetectable PSA I thought I was

Heidelberg
we just had our appointment with the doc in Heidelberg, the 4 week Proton treatment seemed to have worked, the PSA went from 0,7 to 0,2. During the radiation, they ran a pet scan twice a week. My husband had no negative side effects with this radiation, life quality was good. The doctor was well pleased

Concerns about treatment
I had a prostatectomy in 4/2009. In 3/2018 realized my PSA was .3. Underwent salvation radiation with no change. PSA tested every 3 months and has been climbing, except when I tried KETO diet. Attempts to locate using PET scans with Auxim have failed. On 4/5/23 a PET CT PSMA scan revealed cancer in lymph

When to add Lynparza?
I completed six rounds of chemo (docetaxel + carboplatin) end of February. Bottom line from PSMA Pet scan in late March: some tumors reduced in size/intensity, others stayed the same, no new PCa evident. PSA remains undetectable. I’m on Lupron and Nubeqa. Genetic testing shows my cancer has the ATM mutation

SBRT Treatment Follow Up
After my prostate surgery, and being assured all the cancer was removed, my PSA tripled, in 6 months, from .8 to 2.50. Pet scan showed four tumors in my bones. One at the top of my shoulder, one on my rib, one on the spine in the middle of my back, and one near the tail bone. So I had 4 SBRT treatments

Worrying study on long-term ADT (esp Enza)
I just came across a study (2019 International Journal of Pharmacology) that suggests that long-term use of ADT can cause neuroendicrine differentiation, leading to rapid spread and more aggressive spread. (the article was actually about the use of propanalol to counteract the effect of NED, but the

No Longer Undetectable, PSMA-CT Results
I posted a few days ago about the fact that my husband had been undetectable since his prostate was removed in April of 2021. And then on 3/31 his PSA was 6.3 and on 4/03 it was 7.1. The oncologist ordered a PSMA-CT scan and that was done today. The oncologist's PA called us with the results and she
