I’m back😁. Used to be Dtech.
Been a while since I was last on here. I didn’t go on a lot unless I could help with anything. So jock update. I’m now happily retired. Dog walking and playing golf. Going on occasional holidays. Had a week in Seville to celebrate my 70th birthday. January I had a bad hip. Thought it was just a strain

Tapering
It is some time since I posted anything about my PMR journey, but want to share my recent tapering experience. I have been on prednisone for 4.5 years and struggled over covid lockdowns being able to talk to anyone, gp or rheumatoid, when I was having what I thought were flares of pmr when trying to

Caution: regarding medical procedure to insert a gel to protect organs while undergoing radiation
I’m 73 and I recently had this procedure done and it seems to be working well. But a word of caution. I’ve had some severe back problems where 3 vertebra are pinching nerves for several years. Typically the pain is sporadic and only a 3-4 out of 10. I have in the past had a couple very painful bouts

Advice
I have asked my GP for a learning disabilities assessment to keep getting help from a family support worker, but He said that He would chase my ASD assessment instead. I am really worried because our actual family support worker is leaving us as our daughter is 18 next month, but I cannot make conversations

Intrinsic factor
I seem to be at a sticking point with the findings of the intrinsic factor test. This is due to the way they now interpret the test results. My test result was Au/ml 1.63 ... Which I jumped with joy over as I thought "at last, this proves I have been telling the truth". How wrong I was. It is no longer

40+ years of Exhausting Fibro!!
Hi everyone, I have not been on this forum for a long time now due to declining health and numerous personal stuff (all pretty traumatic/stressful unfortunately!) Anyway, in early February this year I developed a really painful right arm/shoulder that I felt wasn't fibro-related. Local chiropractor said

HelloHave been trialling Buprenorphine Pain Patches. Has anyone else been on these before ? I'm having the affects of sweating & bad so called dreams. They have not lulled my pain whatsoever in any shape or form etc. Although I do suffer from historic chronic prostatitis & chronic pelvic nerve pain

Pain Management
I am not yet diagnosed with Endo but waiting some tests. My period pains are becoming more and more unmanageable with the prescriptions pain meds I have. Currently I will take Codeine, Naproxen and Paracetamol to their fullest dosage but sometimes it doesn’t relieve me of pain or at least not for

Have I made a mistake
I posted last weekend about having lower back pain and being sick after taking my pred. Apologies for the long post. The pain in my lower back and side has continued and moved down the front of my leg which is numb. I saw the GP who said I had a trapped nerve to take painkillers and if no better

Advice please from those post SCT about dentistry
Hi everyone, thank you for reading. I'm now 2.5 years post transplant for myelofibrosis. My treatment was very intense which had left me with alot of long term issues. One of which is extensive nerve damage, ive worked with a pharmacist to get the best optimal (tolerated) dose of pregablin (now75mg

Could this be PMR?
Hi there. I have been lurking in the background for a while. I have OA and in fact had both hips replaced-2014 and 2021 to great effect!! However for the past 2 years or so I have had various rounds of physio to try and resolve a stiff neck and sciatic pain. No real relief and Ibruprofen doesn’t help

Thinking about giving up on diagnosis
Hi everyone. I finally had my first consultation at an endometriosis specialist centre. I saw a female doctor for the first time ever since my problems started a few years ago, which was nice. She couldn't believe that my GP surgery wouldn't let me continue with the combined pill and said I would HAVE
