Hi, everyone! I was admitted to the hospital on March 11 and diagnosed with Streptococcal Bacterial Meningitis and hospitalized for 17 days. Just released last Thursday. This was all brought on by an ear infection that I guess turned into meningitis. I had all the tests and scans and was told I was lucky

viral meningitis
hi there I have found lots of comfort in hearing I am not alone! I am 31 years old and I got viral meningitis in October 2023. I took the rest of the year off work (I am a teacher) and thought going back to school at the end of January was plenty time recovery. Over the time off; my headaches everyday

Long term VM symptoms
Hi when I was 17 I got VM and they had problems with the lumbar puncture they used 4 different lengths of needles and were not able to get in. I was put in some type of x-ray thing so they could see inside. It worked right away. The pain I had was in my head my neck and my spine. I felt like I was dying

Viral Meningitis
Hi, I'm 4 months into my viral meningitis journey and seem to be really struggling with a few lingering symptoms. I have daily headaches which vary in severity but my main issue is the nausea and sickness and lack of appetite. For a good 3 months now I am finding it so difficult to eat as I have no appetite

Flu and Pneumonia vaccinations
I was wondering if having the Flu shot or Pneumonia shot causes AFib episodes like COVID did.

Following my last post re shingles vaccine and that I had not had a face to face consultation since pre covid I have had a telephone consultation and I thought I would update you. The telephone consultation was with another unknown nurse within the haematology dept. My blood results were stable

Flare after Shingrix shingles vaccine?
Hi Everyone, I received my second (recombinant) shingles vaccine yesterday. The first one caused a mild fever and malaise. This time my finger joints are stiff and pretty painful. Has anyone else had something similar and, if so, how long did it last? Thanks so much

reaction to Spikevax XBB 1.5Moderna
Just want to share that I had the above covid booster on Thursday (2nd May) and it appears to have triggered a lupus flare (in my case, rash, aching joints, splitting headache, extreme fatigue). I normally take prednisolone when I have a flare but feel it would be counter productive to what the vaccination

do I need the spring Covid shot?
I have had 7 covid shots since the start of Covid. On October 10 of 2023 I received the Moderna bivalent booster, as well as the flu shot and RSV shot. I came down with Covid, for the second time, on March 20 of 2024. First time was April of 2022, I am doing fine now. My wife tells me she received

Influenza A while on W & W,-- the price for not wanting a vaccine
I decided to put my pride and lack of articulate writing skills aside to share a my learning experience . It was in Jan of 23 when I was told over the phone of my CLL Dx. I walked around in a panicky daze. First I went to Mr Google. (BIG MISTAKE !) I started clearing out the house and giving things

Flu shot debate, I've noticed a decline
My mom is 94 and a sibling took her for a flu shot without my knowledge. I then visited my mom about 10 days later and noticed her blood pressure was up to 198, even while lying down. I took her to immediate care where they brought it down but it continues to stay higher than usual and the cardiologist

pneumonia vaccination
I have been told to get my pneumonia jab , i’m not worried about sore arm, but i’m just a bit concerned i might feel poorly after. I didn’t feel poorly after my flu jab or covid booster. Any reassurance would be appreciated. Thank you.
