New blood pressure drugs
Hi all I have had a lot of issues with BP meds currently on Felodipine 7.5mg and in general they are by far the best I have used. However I am an insomniac and Felodipine has definitely exacerbated this. No sleep at all last night. GP prescribed Mirtazapine to help but I only took half a dose and was

Insomnia and Felodipine ?
Hi everyoneI have been on Felodipine for several weeks now after trying many other drugs for BP. While I feel a lot better on these drugs my existing insomnia is now off the scale!. I am now averaging 3 or 4 hours a night and over the counter sleeping pills aren't helping much. My GP says she has ran

Weight loss with Felodipine anyone ?
I have now been on Felodipine 2.5mg for 10 days I have reduced appetite and have lost 4 pounds. I am usually 7st 10lbs and really don't want to lose any weight at all. I have IBS and had a bad flare up with diahorrea but didn't notice any weight loss at that point. Have an appointment with GP 26th but

Everything taste awful - like vinegar!
I was prescribed 6 drugs in March following a silent heart attack. They were the usual - Aspirin, Clopidogrel, Ramipril, Atovastatin, Bisoprolol, and Lansoprazole. Five weeks ago food and drink began to taste awful - sour or vinegarish. I can't bear to eat any dairy, fruit or meat. I can eat vegetables

Ramipril cough
GP has changed my BP medication as was suffering from the cough. How long does it take for cough to disappear. Probably not suffered as much as some more if I take a deep breath then tickles and have to cough.

Changes in medication a year after TAVI?
Next month sees the first anniversary of my TAVI, since when I've been on Ramipril, Clopidogrel and Omeprazole (and Simvastatin). Has anyone had a reduction in their meds after a year, and, if so, why? The review would be with my surgeon, who was insistent that I didn't need Omeprazole (but didn't

Newly diagnosed
Hi, I'm a 46 year old man who's prediabetic and just been told that my blood pressure is too high. I've just completed a week of home blood pressure tests and have an average of 144/90. The doctors have put me on a dose of 2.5 mg of Ramipril. I'm worried about any side affects that may arise. Can anyone

Odd feeling in chest
Good morning I’m looking for some advice please. I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Only symptom was prolonged palpitations. Had them all my life. I’m now 55. I had an ablation November 2023, so far that has helped massively with the palpitations. I get daily ectopics but they don’t affect me at all. They

Advice, please!
Over the past four months I’ve had a very painful knee. I have a doctor’s appointment next week. I suspect it is osteoarthritis (I’m 68). I’m also aware that other joints, particularly my shoulders, are also aching, especially when I get up in the mornings. I am taking 60 mg Lixiana, 1.25 mg Bisoprolol

Raised Blood Pressure on Nifidipine
was previously on ramipril in order to medicate as stage 1 hypertensive and needed protection as had Thoraic Ascending Aneurysm. My BP on this averages around 120/80. The TAA was repaired last year with OHS. In order to counteract oesophageal issues I now take Nifidipine which is a calcium channel blocker

Low Blood pressure concern
Hi I have been lurking here for a bit since my cardiac arrests in February. I'm recovering really well, but for the last few days, my blood pressure has been low for long periods of time ( a few hours) making me very light-headed. Typically my blood pressure is low in the morning (about 90/65) and then

Medication side affects after NSTEMI
Hi, Male, 47, I appear to be suffering a few side affects of medication following a minor heart attack (if there is such a thing) that was treated with a small stent, 9 months ago. (Atorvastatin, Lansoprazole, Ramipril, Clopidogrel, Bisoprolol, Asprin) These include regularly waking up during the

Ramipril & Pulsatile Tinnitus
I want to share my experience with Ramipril for anyone who runs into this as I made it through what was probably the scariest week of my life. I was prescribed Ramipril to slow down heart failure, though my blood pressure isn't too high. I was only taking a low dose of 2.5mg daily. 2-3 weeks in I started

Here We Go Again
Four days ago, I reported that after 4 ‘failed’ ablations, I had undergone a ‘successful’ cardioversion for what my EP said was atrial tachycardia. For four days, I enjoyed normal sinus rhythm and a heart rate of between 50 and 70bpm. However, my joy was short lived. This evening, whilst watching a

Post Cardioversion advice
After 4 ‘failed’ ablations, I yesterday had a cardioversion for atrial tachycardia. I went back into NSR after only one shock on the lowest setting and my EP was pleased with how the procedure went. Does anyone have any advice about how I can try to stay in sinus? I know it’s a bit of a lottery but
