Stay on current meds or switch to Sotalol?
I was offered
Amiodarone
but a previous doctor and subsequent reading has put me off this because of the affect it can have on other parts of the body. I have also been offered Dronedarone but the recommendation is to try is Sotalol.

Tikosyn (Dofetilide)?
Apparently it is less toxic in the long run than
Amiodarone
, but it requires three-days in the hospital at the outset to monitor no adverse reactions (which can include cardiac arrest).

I’m on
amiodarone
now and still having breakthrough attacks up to twice a week. They told me I need an ablation but can’t get one because of my weight.

Fast AF/slow AF …symptoms
Fingers crossed this is going to work otherwise ablation is next on the list as I’m not a candidate for beta blockers & he’s not a fan of
amiodarone
. Have a good weekend everyone, I’m very nervous about taking my first few flecanide tablets but he’s assured me this will work well .

CRT-D device and Ablation? Advice please.
Cardiologist is going to put me on
Amiodarone
tablets along side the device then after some time will stop the pacemaker part to see if the tablets do the same job. Then depending on results will do an ablation to the left lower ventricle to get rid of the part of the heart that isn’t working.

Sotalol and troubles breathing
I would like to reach out to see if anybody has ever had similar experience as I do at present. After 7 cardioversions and 2 ablations I was eventually and surprisingly converted to sinus 7months ago with Sotalol(
amiodarone
and flecainide failed to do so) and remained in sinus since.

Questioning my need for flecainide or amiodarone
Two weeks ago, one of my cardiologist took me off
Amiodarone
and Isosorbide and replaced them with Hydrochlorthiazide and, sadly, FLECAINIDE 100mg/twice a day.

Amiodarone
I’m due to have a Cardioversion on 5 Nov and Cardiologist seemed to infer the
Amiodarone
was in preparation for that. I talked to my GP who said to continue taking it and Bisopropol but I’m now feeling that can’t be right…. Looking for input on long term use of the above drug.

Amiodarone - yes or no ?
At the moment I'm on Sotalol before my CV (long time coming) but I am thinking about talking to my cardio regarding starting
Amiodarone
instead before my CV. I feel that after researching it
Amiodarone
is the most likely medication to keep me in sinus.

The dreaded Amiodarone
I don’t think I want to go on the
Amiodarone
. Has anybody else seen that verapamil can give you irregular heartbeats? I am wondering to ask to go back to the one again. Has anyone any suggestions. My energy levels are low. Thanks

Brachycardia
I am on
Amiodarone
100mg morning and evening, Atorvastatin at bed time, Lisinopril and Apixiban twice a day. I feel a lot of people on this forum are as knowledgeable as some Drs. I've ran into. Thank You and GOD Bless.

Stopping Amiodarone Because of Side-Effects
What is concerning me, is that if I get good results from the clinic, the next step is to stop taking
Amiodarone
as my symptoms could be a long-term side effect of this drug. Given my history, and that
amiodarone
is the drug that stops me going into cardiac arrest, I am a little nervous.

Never ending atrial flutter/afib
My husband is back in afib/flutter and he is now being loaded with
amiodarone
for yet another cardioversion. He is permanently breathless and always exhausted. He will have the procedure again in January we hope, depending on the waiting list.
