Should I worry?

Hello everyone

Hope your all having a nice day, this is my first post here, I'm a mid 50s male taking Benepali for rheumatoid arthritis and 3 months ago after visiting the toilet I got really light headed had to sit down as I felt my heart was slowing down so I took deep breaths and recovered. The GP informed I could have low blood pressure and that was that so I added salt to my plant based diet. Now yesterday I did a bit of mild gardening and brushed the small patio then started to feel dizzy so sat down and bang the heart was pumping real hard brow sweats and left hand tingling. This scared the life out of me and after 2 min of deep breathing I was ok. I have only felt my heart like this after doing the 100mtrs 40 years ago. Should I be worried?

Thank you for reading this.

my advice is call 111 or better still go to A&E, as it could be a heart Attack and you don’t want to take any chances with that!

Hello and welcome to the Forum, how are you feeling today? Thank you for sharing your experiences, do you regularly monitor your pulse? did you know an irregular/erratic and often rapid or slow pulse can be the early warning signs of a heart rhythm disorder. A simple manual pulse check can take just 30 seconds, for further details, visit our Know Your Pulse program on the Arrhythmia Alliance website: heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/...

I would advise you to download our Arrhythmia Checklist to complete before contacting your doctor. api.heartrhythmalliance.org...

If you experience chest pains, difficulty in breathing or faints, please do not hesitate to seek urgent medical advice by contacting 999.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact our Patient Services Team: heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/...

Thank you Tracy for this info I will check it out. I did visit my local hospital and they completed 2 ECGs and 2 blood sample test. The doctor could not find anything wrong at all and advised me to goto my GP if it happens again. This has left me worried as I do not know when it will happen again.

You are welcome, the heart rhythm does fluctuate during the day, which is normal, but if you are experiencing it often, then this should not be ignored.
