Sitting at the kitchen table

So i'm sitting at the kitchen table with a bunch of people and it makes me very uncomfortable. i'm afraid that they will all see that i am nervous and that i'm paying attention to them. and that they'll all figure it out together that im the weird one out, the odd man out. and they'll do things with their body language to show discomfort. What do I do?

Hi Eric

This is a bit like the scenario from the other day. What are they doing right now?

i went upstairs because i couldn't handle it, but they were crocheting, or watching something on their phones...the situation has to do with me and the fact that i'm the one focusing on their movements and their typing...and my head keeps moving back and forth

Maybe the best think to do is for you to stay busy. Then you won't be able to freely look around the room. Just a thought

So if you look at your computer screen you aren't watching their every move

i can see their movements...my computer screen doesnt take up my whole field of vision, i can see past the computer.

Can you position yourself somehow so that you don't have to see all of them

Eric, I have found that smiling at people can break tension between both

you and others. :) xx

Not practical ?? When could smiling and saying "How you doing guys" not

be good? It would break the ice. :) xx

its weird when you know all the staff and residents and see them on a regular basis...maybe once in the morning and once when they leave would be acceptable

what’s the others doing ,probably looking at stuff themselves on their devices not even concerned about you being weird or what you’re looking at stand up stretch have a walk outside….break the cycle of your current thought process
