Lupron - start with one month dose or 3 months ?
Also , I have been reading that antagonists like
Degarelix
or relugolix may be safer from cardiac safety point compared to agonists like lupron ? Any thoughts and experiences which can be shared ? 🙏🏻

Gummie relief for degarelix shots?
DH has so much pain with each monthly shot and can't take nsaids. Is there anything that won't make him loopy to use after shots for a few days? He is ready to go back to lupron, it hurts so much. Mail order preferred. Thanks!

Finasteride: "Miracle drug" regrows hair, heals prostate, and also boosts heart health ByEric Ralls Earth.com
I am now thinking to add Finasteride to Bicalutamide plus
degarelix
injections. Would/could it help me if on the psma pet scan my only visible cancer is in my prostate?

Falling ALT - Pathway to Sarcopenia? - More Exercise Needed?
Two years in to my de novo high volume metastatic prostate cancer diagnosis, I am pleased to report excellent results so far with triplet therapy (Docetaxel chemo completed, Abiraterone ARPI, Firmagon/
Degarelix
GnRH antagonist as ADT). However I would be grateful for any advice today.

Lupron - are there heart risks?
Would
degarelix
or relugolix be better choices ? We are also considering getting Orchiechtomy done but the doctor said to take the first Lupron shot without delaying , and then after that we can think of the Orchiechtomy.

Chemo or no/not yet?
PSA hit 366 before starting Abiraterone and
Degarelix
. Start Lupron next week. Negative on DNA test. Will see what PSA looks like next week after a month of ADT. My question chemo, no chemo or wait on chemo? Onco and Rad Onco both seemed to have a very soft attitude towards it.

Agonists vs. antagonists (the latter not to be confused with a character in a novel!)
I know many of you on this site are beyond ADT, but for those who are still holding on in that space, I'd like to share my experience with the newer antagonists drugs,
degarelix
( U.S. brand, Firmagon) and relugolix (U.S. brand, Orgovyx).

Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
Since May 2023, dad has been on monthly
Degarelix
(Firmagon) injections and on a regime of 160 mg of Enzalutamide daily (Xtandi). His PSA reached a nadir of 0.02 in March 2024. Most recent PSA in April 2024 showed an PSA increase to 0.03 with testosterone value of 0.41 ng/ml.

Arrythmias on Zytiga
Or just finish the 24 months with ADT (
degarelix
).? Abiraterone ends march 1, 2024. So I’d be 5 months short.

Degarelix bad reaction
I just had my 5th
Degarelix
injection. The prior four injections prompted no reaction beyond pain and soreness at the site. The reaction to the 5th shot caused more pain than usual at the injection site, but also came with chills and severe joint and muscle pain by that evening.

Extreme sweats will they diminish; Zitiga is it worth it
I started treatment with initial "double load"
Degarelix
shot July, 2023. My MO retired and the new MO changed from
Degarelix
to Lupron, the 3 month shot, August, 2023 to be more convenient rather than having to come in every 28 days for the
Degarelix
shot.

PSA rising on Triplet Therapy after <18m
He began triplet therapy (initially
degarelix
, then leuprolide + abiraterone and prednisone) soon after. By September it had fallen to under 0.1 and then under 0.05 by the summer of 2023. Subsequent PET scans showed some bone mets had shrunk, others were unchanged.

PSA increase nearly one year after triplet therapy (mHSPC), what's next?
Edit: If that is any interest, he couldn't handle monthly injections of
Degarelix
(Firmagon) so he switched to Decaptetyl (Triptorelin) every 3 months and his PSA actually dropped further. Not sure if it's related though.

QOL: summer cruise on the coast of Maine
Tomorrow I start
Degarelix
injections once again after being on a three month leuprolide depo-formulation ,I am thankful for those sweet summer days, but I think it better to go back to a monthly injection and regular visits with my MO. And so my brothers my voyage continues
