Thermal Abaltion vs Cryoablation
I think I'm leaning slightly more to
cryoablation
but not by much.

breast cancer treated by a cryoablation.
Having a
cryoablation
procedure 1/31/24 at Sloan Kettering in New York City. It will be followed by chemo and other drugs to target HER 2. Anyone have any experience with
cryoablation
to treat aggressive breast cancer?

Post ablation issue
Had my first
cryoablation
yesterday at Papworth (including a cardioversion just to top it off). All went well, apart from voice being a bit croaky afterwards (no intubation) and slight crackle in lung starting. Returned home, went to bed, good sleep but crackles getting worse overnight.

afib without pharmaceutical drugs
check-ups with the cardiologist and they tell me that I don't need pharmaceutical drugs I have not had any episodes of afib except during the ablation for svt when at the end of the procedure they did stimulation for other tachycardias and they found afib. after a week they did pulmonary vein isolation,

Failure rates for different types of ablation?
Please can anybody tell me: Is the failure rate greater for RF ablation than for
cryoablation
? I’ve just spoken to a family friend who was told that the failure rate for RF was 30%, as against 10% for cryo. This was five years ago, so maybe things have changed since then?

Face massage three weeks after ablation?
OK here’s a weird one: I had my
cryoablation
three weeks ago and am recovering well. Wanting a treat, and feeling that I was looking old, I booked myself a face massage for tomorrow. But the therapist is worried about doing it this soon after ablation.

ablation date!
UPDATE:
Cryoablation
done, recovering nicely. I had a phone call Friday……. ablation now booked Monday 13th May! At Basildon. I have read lots about recovery and realise it depends how much is done and on the individual.

3 year NSR anniversary
after 3 years constant, persistent AF then flutter. 1x external cardioversion (failed after 3 days) 1x
cryoablation
under sedation (failed as procedure cut short due to a short period of asystole!) 1x RF ablation under GA.

Focal therapy ?
Ehdaie (MSK) for
cryoablation
at MSK, and for RT. Ehdaie recommended focal but my call. I have met both docs. Dr. Fainberg for focal and Dr. Mychalczak for RT+hormone therapy. Also just got 2nd opinion from Dr. Herbert Lepor at NYU Langone. He thinks I'm a good candidate for
cryoablation
.

Is Bradypnea and Tachypnea normal?
It’s been 16 months since my
cryoablation
and my FitBit has logged a few incidences of bradypnea and tachypnea. The charts also show pauses like I didn’t take a breath at all overnight.

Pulsed Field Ablation in Australia
Much safer than RF or
Cryoablation
. This video from Medtronic explains the pulsed field technology: https://youtu.be/rH8SvEq398M I know Europe has offered Pulsed Field Ablations for a few years now, and the USA has given approval for the technology in recent months.

Ablation done
I had
cryoablation
under sedation but as soon as I was given sedation I went out in a second and open my eyes just as they finished some 2 hours later. My chest is a bit sore and painful and my catether leg entry is a bit painful but all in all I feel ok.

Cryoablation and recovery so far - my experience
I had my
cryoablation
done on Tuesday (4 days ago). It lasted just under 2 hours and even though they told I will be sedated and maybe awake, I was out like a light even before the EP started anything. I woke up just as they finished everything and they settled me in my room.

Still in AF 25 days post ablation.. do I take Amiodarone?
I've been in constant AF since day two following a
cryoablation
nearly four weeks ago. I'm guessing the trauma of ablation is contributing but my AF symptoms are much worse than I've known before.. very easily breathless, light headed, frequent need to pee at night, pounding heart 105 bpm.

Specific headache after ablation
I had a
cryoablation
10 days ago and for the last few days I have a strange occasional short headaches mostly in the left temple. It's like a short second or two pain and then it goes away.

Thoughts on alcohol post ablation
No episode since early Dec'23 and in early March'24 had a
cryoablation
. All good for now except (still) some headaches and pulsatile tinnitus in one ear.

Experience with Williams Cancer Institute?
I have been looking into
cryoablation
+ intratumoral immunotherapy treatment options offered by a few docs around the country - Dr. Gary Onik and Dr. Jason Williams. Found some threads here with patients who have done treatment with Dr. Onik but search on this forum does not show anything about Dr.

First Private Blood Test
In June 2023 I had a
cryoablation
, which has been successful. Great! I did spend a week in hospital just after the op with pericarditis, and whilst I was there, a cardiologist stopped the T3 and increased the T4 to 75mcg. He didn’t consult me or tell me about the change.
