Making a summary of your asthma to use in A&E/with paramedics: what these are and why they can help
Hi all, It's come up a couple of times recently that people have had less than ideal experiences with emergency care for asthma. I thought I'd post something about the summary I created and use when I need to go to A&E, which I know other 'regulars' have also found helpful. EmmaF91 has made a template

Struggling to swallow and digest food.
Has anybody struggled with swallowing food and food not digesting especially on an evening/night. I have noticed over the last month that I'm struggling to eat food without it building up in my throat and the other day it made me nearly pass out. Also the food I manage to eat on an evening doesn't seem

does is seem my son has asthma ?
hi I was told to trial my son on a blue inhaler as coughs all year. But I am not really getting much info on if he has asthma etc as it’s been 18 days and not getting much guidance with it all. He is 8 and 132cm tall … I’m not fully understanding what the graph is telling me and how bad it is etc

Sinus issues and asthma
I had a flare up of my asthma last week and ended up on a short course of prednisolone which thankfully has now finished. The virus that I've had seems to have now moved from my lungs into my sinuses - I've had many issues with my sinuses over the years - this virus is the gift that keeps giving!!

Asthma flare up due to anxiety
Because of everything that I am dealing with and no real outlet (yet) my asthma is not being triggered. I had the worst asthma flare up I couldn’t catch my breath at all yesterday not even a nebulizer treatment and 4 inhaler would work. Had to go to the UC to get put on a steroid to get my breathing

Fancy sharing your experience of bonfire night with ALUK? ✨🧨🔥
Asthma + Lung UK is looking for people with asthma who are badly affected by smoke for a press campaign about Bonfire Night and its effects on those with lung conditions. If you or your child has suffered an asthma attack on one bonfire night or has to stay indoors on Nov 5 because smoke is a trigger

surgery and effects on asthma
I had ear surgery today and the anaesthetic team were fantastic regarding my asthma, with putting me at ease and talking me through different plans if anything happened re asthma. They decided to give me some steroid (for anti sickness and hep my chest as a preventative measure) 3/4 through the surgery

How can I get my other allergies tested?
I know from living with them that I have more allergies than I've been tested for. I live in a small seaside town with minimal health provision. I am puzzled as to why my allergies come on strong at times - this year since the start of September to present - and I asked if I could be referred to an allergy

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with CLL in August 2018 and so far have remained on watch and wait. In September 2019, I had successful surgery for colon cancer, had a stoma for 6 months and then a reversal and have been "all clear" since then. Also, as a bonus, the chemo I had for the colon cancer

Inconsiderate delivery drivers
I have a condition which causes an
allergic
asthma
type response to everyday laundry products, perfumes/fragrances. I always ask the driver to step well back and to take a photo with the door open a little and my hand around it.
