PMR and Phlebitis
Has anyone else been treated for phlebitis who also has PMR? I had the diagnosis yesterday from a vascular surgeon. I am having the vein in my upper thigh sorted out next month using a local anaesthetic, VNUS I think the procedure is called. I am currently on 10mg of pred, is it a good idea to increase

Hair loss
Can anyone recommend something to help with loss of hair from the large doses of prednisone. I am taking 1200 mg of Biotin which I think helps, just wondering if anyone over there knows of anything else, foods? Topical stuff, shampoo or anything?

The Real Ireland...
There's Irish and then there's Irish... Decent Irish music is played in dubious 'pubs down back alleys...nothing happens until twelve at night and then the musicians come through the back door...half-cut already...carrying battered fiddle cases and stained bodhrans they lurch towards the bar and demand

Hello fellow members, Please can I post some information (without my Charity hat on) as I have just seen this on Facebook and it is quite worrying as i believe some misinformed First Aid training is also mentioning this. There has been an Urban Myth circulating (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_legend

Problems after catheter ablation
in late 2011 I suspected I may have persistent AF. I had suddenly become fatigued climbing stairs and even got tired during the warm up for a game of tennis. This was confirmed by a consultant and I was started on Warfarin. A cardioversion was performed July 2012, my rhythm returned to normal and I felt

Perhaps Stealing Is Sometimes Good...
The sun has been shining for the entire day...it's still cold though but everything seems so much brighter with blue skies and the sun streaming through the sitting-room windows showing up all the dusty surfaces. Something I used to do when we first came home was to steal away the plaster Madonna's left

Saw doctor today. All test were clear which is great but he also said I had a negative blood test for ApS.
He looked at my notes and i had a negative test before my son was born but I was still given asprin and fragmin. He repeated the test and will do again in 3 months. If negative again he might take me off warfarin. Im so confused !!! Anyone else had the same thing ? Xx

Is there treatment for monomer exposure?
Some months ago I had a work accident. I inhaled a lot of fumes from material called monomer. I was not given Health and Safety at start of the work and I haven't signed any documents about the harmfulness of the material so I didn't know anything about this particular monomer. I was not given first

Erythema Multiforme, skin sloughing off of inside cheeks and vagina
After being in remission for five years, I was absolutely flabbergasted to find myself in a flare a few months ago. In the past (1999 - 2008) I was never given a confirmed diagnosis of Behcet's because the majority of my skin lesions were erythema mutiforme ( mostly associated with herpes). I did

Question about long haul air travel
I had a dvt in my right leg from behind my knee to my ankle last August. Was on warfarin for 3 months and am doing fine now. Doctor says if I have another dvt will be on anticoagulant for life. Cause of my dvt was a double genetic mutation. I love to travel and especially enjoy cruises, but am nervous

dreadful itching….suggestions?
This used to happen every so often but now it is all the time. My lower legs itch until I want to draw blood scratching them. I don't know how to get relief. I have just stood with the cold shower running over them and then covered them in Lanacane but even that isn't helping these days…..it keeps me
