All of these physiological events are the consequence of the fight or flight reaction by the body which increases epinephrine (
adrenaline
) and produces elevated awareness and vigilence so that the body is prepared to either defend itself from the threat or be able to run fast enough to escape harm.

Facing Fear.
Hi All. I have blogged about Dr. Weekes two "bogies", Bewilderment and Sensitisation. There are three the last one being FEAR. There is the story of the man who was pursued by a Tiger. The faster he ran so did the Tiger. Exhausted with all the effort the man turned and faced the Tiger. They looked into

I know that’s maybe not relevant but for the sake of medical research I think its important to be clear. It may be just due to the additional
adrenaline
in my system at the minute.

5 miles done! (and an adventure with cows)
young gun obviously took offence to me and started running towards me shaking his head and bellowing, so I had no choice but to take a short cut through a flooded section of the field towards the gate I shall never forget the invigorating feeling of icy water shooting up the leg of my shorts or the

CONTINUE TO FEEL FEAR, SURRENDER, AND WIN!
The human body is a magnificent mechanism. The capability of the human mind is endless. One must try to understand that our emotions and feelings are our friends and not a foe. Emotions exist for a reason. They are our protector that helps us to deal with a threat to our well being. There are REAL threats

Acceptance: The Key to Permanent Recovery from Panic and Anxiety
Because an attitude of utter and true acceptance is the keystone to recovery when suffering from panic and anxiety, it is vitally important that a person understand acceptance, its exact meaning and how to practice doing it. Unlike learning a dance step or riding a bicycle which requires initiating action

Shake up your little world and listen for a minute
We get high on the
adrenaline
and feel important. We are adrtenaline addicts. But about the time we begin showing symptoms our relationship with stress changes and that surge of
adrenaline
hits us like a truck and leaves us shaking and broken on the side of the road.

My story.
At first, it hurt, but seeing the blood running down my wrist, it was a kind of
adrenaline
flowing through my veins. This sick thought came flooding into my thoughts. I liked it. After that, it only took small things to make me want to cut.

Scared!!!
It's time for the dreaded W5R3 tomorrow, I am excited and a wee bit nervous, my husband says nerves are good as I'll have a little bit of adrenalin pumping which should help. It's been great reading other people's experiences of this run. Any other advice/tips muchly appreciated as I keep thinking

My first running skirmish! Also, the 10k race? BRING IT!
And then the immense burst of
adrenaline
in that little race was over and all of a sudden, I was faced with a big hill and no energy to carry me up it. So I relaxed and walked for approx 300m or so whilst I caught my breathe and relived the last 5 minute skirmish with my pursuer.

The "Enemy" At The Door.
Hi all. On almost every new blog I read the words "fight" and "enemy" and "the thing" which come up time and again. You do not have to "fight" the "the thing" or engage wth any battle with the "enemy". All this talk of fighting and enemy only creates more fear thus more adrenalin thus more anxiety.

Five and a half miles with Chrissie Wellington
The first two I bought were
Adrenaline
Junkie 2 and Run Faster with Chrissie Wellington 3. Tonight I thought I'd try to run intervals with Chrissie and see if I could keep up!

Moving forward.
I did feel a little wobbly for a moment in the shop but i am through with worrying about it, it's just
adrenaline
, it's just the way i am at the moment. So what if my hands start shaking, it's my anxiety coming through to say hello, i'm here, and that is fine, i'm not going to stress about it.

I will not be beaten!
As he says, it is only
adrenaline
overload that is making me feel this way, nothing else. I am not ill. Why should it bother me? If i feel ill then i am just going to go with it. Please feel free to comment if you are also trying to get through this horrible disorder.

Dr Jekill & Mr Hyde strikes again!
Soooooo frustrated i could scream, cry & generally need a straight jacket i'm so cross with my consultant! After 3 months of my work chasing my cons for a medical report he has sent one to them and its complete rubbish (not just my opinion, my HR officer said 'its useless to us and utter rubbish').

STRESS & IBS
I see it is like my brain in my stomach responds to
adrenaline
surges. Can be travelling, shock, stressful situation, even criticism. This kind of shuts down bowel movements, causing extreme bloating, tiredness, unwellness feeling and leads to constitution, which compounds effects.
