Should I still be here

My daughter who completed the recent London Marathon in a sub 4 hour time has told my to take care but try and run a bit further, she suggests aiming for 10k. So me being me download an App called 10K, not as polished as the NHS C25K, but it seems ok (American with American voice) it takes 42 days to reach a 10k or 1 hour of running. I decided to start at the beginning, which seems a bit of a cheat, as the first part is the same as C25K, so I am now finding it quite easy running. But I will persist to see how I go 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Building towards 10k is a nice next step that many of us decide to take…including me!

We’ve actually got another board called “Bridge to 10k” where you might like to continue your journey. We’re not strict about where people choose to post. See what feels best for you. On Bridge, you’ll likely find more people doing similar sorts of runs to you so it might fit better with where you are now. Have a look here…

I don’t know that app at all but any training plan is only a guide and not set in stone. Adapt as you need to and have fun! There are a few others that you’ll see people using over on bridge if it doesn’t suit the way you like to run.

there is also a podcast called Bridge to 10K , which starts with 4 x 10 mins runs with 1 min walks between for the first week and then carries on until you are running for 60 mins straight by the 6th week. It is very similar to c25k with prompts and advice/support throughout and it helped me get to 60 mins running ( although that was only 7.5k for me and I had to carry on a bit further to hit 10K. )

Good luck with it

there’s bridge to 10k here as mentioned.

Also the couch to 5k app now has ‘beyond C25K which builds towards 10k and looks to have a variety of runs. If you can’t see it, play the ‘congratulations’ video on completion of week 9 and it will unlock it.

I've joined the Bridge to 10k community and have discovered Ju-Ju's Magic Plan which is pinned there. I'm using the Nike Run Club (free) app to accompany me, but with music from BBC Sounds Pacesetter. You can choose various runs of different distances, and different coaches too, on NRC.
