Methylprednisolone acetate with Lupron
Hubby has had four successful shots of Lupron ( 1 every 6 months) for prostate cancer, which has lowered both his PSA levels and testosterone to medical castration levels(13). His last ct scan (which he gets every 6 months) showed that the tumors had shrunk to undetectable size and his bone scan showed

Liver function tests
I had chest pains a few weeks ago, went to A&E and after 8 hours I was discharged, told to take it easy and see the cardiac nurse. I am now down for echocardiogram, reviewing my other arteries and existing stents (full metal jacket of 4 stents), possible angiogram, stress test, plus full review of meds

Provenge
My husband, Jim, has been on Zytiga since May 2019. His PSA started rising in December 2019 (0.6) and continued to double (1.4, 3., 6.2) every few months. We had discussed Provenge, but held off due to COVID-19. However in August, his PSA was up to 12.6, so we opted to begin Provenge. His PSA in

Implantable loop Recorder/Angina/irregular heart beat and very high calcium scores
After having every scan and test done including a coronary angiogram I am due to come and have an implantable loop recorder fitted into my chest on the 28th of this month which I am apprehensive about. During the last face to face appointment with my cardiologist he said I had a very high calcium score

Calcium score 0 but still getting chest tightness. Cardiologist has discharged me..
My CT cardiac angio showed a calcium score of 0 so my ‘cardiologist’ of all of 5 mins thinks my symptoms of chest tightness on exertion and with stress were due to a low iron. She’s discharged me with no further tests but I’m still getting symptoms. At a loss what to do... I suspect I should use the

Afraid of Fosamax?
Greetings to all of you wise PMRGC members. Thank you for your responses to my other posts. At 65, I was diagnosed with PMR a month and a half ago and was on 10 mg prednisone for a month weaning down 1 mg each month. So far so good - no pain. I had a DEXA Scan last week which showed osteopenia (hips

Taking thyroid hormone with bottled or distilled water?
I usually take my thyroid hormone with bottled water. Now, I´ve read that can decrease hormone absorption as it contains both calcium and magnesium, and that it´s better to take thyroid hormone with distilled water. Has anyone else noticed a difference between taking thyroid hormone with bottled water

Husband was wrong : not hard headed after all!
Hi all, Flew 8 hours from Canada to Switzerland last week to find out if I can ultimately receive FUS PTT. It turns out that yes, except for low skull density ratio (SDR) of 0.34, measured with CAT scan during assessment. Soooo, husband was wrong all these years, I am not hard headed after all! It

From stent to surgery
You may have seen my previous post but to recap, mum had a heart attack on Wednesday morning. She had a couple of stents put in to a blockage and went for another angiogram today. Unfortunately there is a calcium and fat buildup which is not suitable for stenting. She has been told she will have to

Vitamin D levels
I have been keeping my Vitamin D level above 80 for over 5 years now. Sometimes it hits 100, once it hit 127, but then I back off and try and keep it around 90. What are your opinions on this? My oncologist always panics and says keep it to 50. My calcium levels are fine. All other blood markers are

Any treatments left?
Good afternoon, my dad has been battling this awful disease for 2 1/2 years. We have exhausted the majority of treatments. He has been on abiraterone, Xtandi twice, zytiga, Docetaxel, radium-223, BAT and now he is about to get his 8th treatment of Jevtana. He is 77 years old and is tolerating the Jevtana

Hello. I posted on here a month ago asking for advice before an endo appointment. I was feeling very poorly - a lot of joint pain, brain fog, falling over, dizzy, ears ringing etc. Your advice was really helpful, thank you. I ended up having levothyroxine increased from 50 to 75mcg, liothyrinine
