In a real pickle
If it seems I should go back to synthetics should I try
Tirosint
? What's up with this female hormone disruption and mood lability? I for sure can't live like this. It's unacceptable.

It's been a while!
After spending a year reacting to mylan levo and synthroid I was given
tirosint
. Thyroid meds were the only thing I was taking. All reactions were T,B and mast cell activated and all were firsts at 65! For the last year (
tirosint
) all the reactions have stopped.

Neurotransmitter-nutrient relationship (from Dr. Walsh's book "Nutrient Power: heal you biochemistry, heal your brain")
On p.151 there is a table which lists 5 neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, NMDA, GABA) and nutrients affecting them - in case some of you might be interested in looking at them, here are the ones affecting dopamine: Increased activity : tyrosine, phenylalanine, vitamins B1, B6,

L Tyrosine may be helpful
My next attempt at relief is to try L Tyrosine is a non essential amino acid that is the precursor of the neurotransmitter, dopamine. Tyrosine is converted into Levodihydrophenylalanine (L-Dopa) and L-Dopa is subsequently and avidly converted into dopamine. More on the subject here:https://clinicaltrials.gov

free Testosterone [fT] & survival.
This follows on from my response to the YONSA post. From a recent paper [1]: "Despite the fact that free testosterone (FT) is the biologically active form, it is common practice that androgen suppression is monitored via total testosterone levels only." "A total of 34 patients with continuous measurements

Changed levo and eliminated IBS
I changes to
tirosint
which has almost no fillers/exipients. Also lowered the dose and switched to taking it at night. My Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms miraculously cleared up but the ringing in my ears is much worse. MRI shows no reason for the problem.

Experience with Tirosint
Understand
Tirosint
is a form of Levo without all the additives and buffers. Has anyone had any experience with it? Wondering if I am reacting to additives or just can't take T4!!!! I have tried Armour could not get on with it. Am seeing Endo end of June. Comments appreciated.

Hair loss due to thyroid dysfunction?
I currently have been prescribed 13 mcg
Tirosint
(T4) and 5 mcg of compounded T3 with the possibility of increasing. Also, a few questions: -Could this hair loss be caused by low thyroid function even though I had no issues, and probably had deficiencies, prior to the surgery?

If Mucana is only Levadopa - then where is carbidopa coming from ? Also any one tried using light therapy . PLEASE LET ME KNOW .
Given that mom is recovering from pneumonia - her daytime sleepiness is really bad and her off times (low energy times more ). . mucana . We just reintroduced Mucana for mom (every alternate dose ) . 1.5tsps total - four doses. What do folks take with mucana to make it a levodopa plus carbidopa . I

Alternative ways of managing Hashimotos
Hi everyone, I've been doing some research on how a lack of iodine can have a negative impact on your thyroid. Has anyone tried supplements? I've found this one which claims "The body uses the minerals Iodine and Selenium to make thyroid hormones, which are essential for heat, energy and metabolism

Ablation coming up....
Now, I have to be off of my thyroid medication (
Tirosint
x 2 (112mcg) = 224mcg for 3 weeks before the ablation. My BP med was also changed. Day 2 and I am so tired and listless. Has anyone else gone through this? What lies ahead of me.
