Armour Thyroid without a Prescription
Levo and
Synthroid
do nothing, and my doctor just told me she won't prescribe it anymore ("it's archaic, dangerous, dosage is inconsistent"). I've looked everywhere, and the only places I can find nearby won't accept insurance, and I can't afford that! Help...? Thank you!!

Fired my endo
I am currently taking
Synthroid
.112. These results came back and I asked to get an RX for T3 based on being at the very low end of the range.

Get your thyroid checked.
(I already have an underactive thyroid and have been on
Synthroid
- not the generic - for about five years.) Sure enough, my thyroid is too low. Went to my GP who has bumped up my
Synthroid
from 100 mcg to 125 mcg. I've only been on the higher does for two days, but we'll see if it helps.

Overwhelmed and feeling lost with a TSH of 98 !
A few months ago I bought some
Synthroid
and have been taking that for the last 7 days, rather than the Levothyroxine dispensed by the pharmacist, hoping that this may be less harmful to me. I've read about Armour and the other natural versions, and they sound less likely to cause side effects.

Sick of Being Sick
My PCP has increased
Synthroid
from 75 mg to 100 mg. My TSH level is 6.1(.4-4.5); T4 Free is .8(.8-1.7) and T3 Free is 1.9(2.3-5.5). My Vitamin D level was 11; it is now 30(30-80). My B12 was 153, then 1034 after injections and supplementing; now it says >2000.

Levothyroxine - generic or 'named' or T3
I know Eltroxin used to be prescribed in the UK - I think it has been withdrawn in favour of generic levothyroxines. https://www.restartmed.com/
synthroid
-vs-levothyroxine/ This is from TUK which many might find informative.

Thyroid Test Results Assistance Needed
That
synthroid
is better. It's been 4 months and I don't feel any better then before my surgery. I started taking vitamin D which by the way my endocrinologist never mentioned that I was low. This are today's test results. Thank you

Primary doctor slams T3
The T4 was
Synthroid
, a synthetic drug that cost me a buck a pill and the T3 was a generic "free" pill.

Prescribed Cytomel, Fair Dose Adjustment?
I got a dose adjustment,
Synthroid
reduced to 100mcg with addition of 5mcg Cytomel to be taken once daily. Is this a fair adjustment? Thanks!

Chest pain with even small amount of T3?
I then went on straight t4 and felt awful- so now I've been trying to add a tiny bit of T3 to my 50mcg of
synthroid
and every time I try to increase just a tiny bit ( 2.5 mcg) I start having chest pains.

NDT for extremely high antibodies? (Hashi's)
I came in on 112 mg/
Synthroid
. So she started me on 48.75 Nature thyroid and cut the
Synthroid
dose in half for 4 weeks. At the 1st blood test my antibodies were greater than 2200!

Off Synthroid...
Hello, I’ve been following this site for quite some time and it’s very very helpful for people like me. I’ve been hypothyroid since I was 19...now I’m 39 and it’s been a roller coaster. Going to doctors that treat you like an exam paper. If the results come back normal, "oh you are fine” but that’s not

Hypothyroid issues
But I will do what I can. .I have been told I have an allergy to
synthroid
. I can take a natural medication like armour but docs here do not like to use it. I was put back on the
synthroid
which is not helping. Hair falling out, brain fog, joint pain & major anxiety.

New endo and different medicine
Assumes that because I am on 100
synthroid
that my thyroid is no longer active, but is unsure because I still have high antibodies. Unfortunately only really looks at tsh and foes not recommend pig thyroid gland, however willingly prescribed 2 grains so we are going to give it a try! Hopeful.
