Worrisome DEXA results
I had 3 doctors tell me not to worry about a 12% decrease in my spine since the DEXA scans are not accurate when bone mass is very low. In addition in my case my spine has twisted and is not in the same position as in the last DEXA. On top of that the X-ray technician mislabeled the scan. For example

are CTx numbers supposed to be extremely under range while on prolia?
is that the point of anti resorptive? is P1NP supposed to be upper range on prolia, or lower range on prolia? my Mum's numbers are low. but the tests haven't been done for years, i don't think, and they were run within 3 months of prolia doses, so the ctx would be expected to be low? and Mum's

My Oncologist wants me to take Prolia, but the Insurance will not pay for it and wants me to take Zometa. However, I did research on Zometa and its reputation is questionable. What are the alternatives? Xgeva seems better. Any thoughts about this.

Taking Prolia with Rusolitinib (Jakafi)
I have been taking Jakafi (15 mg) twice a day for the last 3 years for my polycythemia vera. I also take blood thinners for my thrombocytosis since I have had blood clots in my lungs twice in the last 2 years. I have had osteoporosis for a while, but my T scores from bone density test are really

Prolia shots
After 4+ years of Actonel is Prolia a good choice for continued treatment of osteoporosis? I will be asking my rheumatologist the same question next time I see her. I am due for another bone scan so she will most likely want to see that first but based on the first 2 tests I am going downhill bone-wise

scan or not? if the scores are improved, great!; if the scores are not improved, what gets done differently?
i dunno but i don't see the point in (Mum) getting another scan, due in a few months, scheduled every 2 years. maybe someone can set me straight. if Mum gets a scan and it shows miraculous improvement, great!, what changes are made to treatment? ; if scores are not improved, what difference does it

Lansoprazole /Prolia
In my Sunday newspaper today the usual GP column has a question put to the GP about Lansoprazole use. Following a mini stroke this lady was put on various tablets one of which was Lansoprazole, and she developed pains in her legs and hips, had a scan and was told she had early-stage osteoporosis. She

Bisphosphonates
I had 1 Prolia shot in Feb with many side effects. I’m going to see a Rheumatologist to Relay me off. I can’t take any Bisphosphonates because I had Gastric Bypass. I don’t know what to do. Is there anyone out there that been on Prolia and can’t take a Bisphosphonate? I would love to hear what you took

Are endocrinologists of any help after ADT?
After ADT, my MO told me that handling things like Prolia management won't be in her bailiwick. I didn't ask about post-ADT SE's and recovery from same. Hot flashes, low T, BMD loss, and last not least sarcopenia. What is the community's experience with how post-treatment SE's are best handled? Are

The end ??
This is more of a whinge than a question. I have been trying to reduce prednisone to 3.5mg for the last 4 months. I was diagnosed 4 years ago with PMR and GCA. I was happy enough with the one to two year burnout prediction from rhumatoligist. Yes I have read all your stories and realise it may never

Eligard and bicalutamide.
Started eligard and bicalutamide post RP in 2018. Followed advice of urologist until 2022. New urologist took me off both after PSA of 0.01. Unfortunately, l did not receive advice about secondary effects of the above drugs-osteoporosis etc. A DEXA scan in 2022 revealed high possibility of bone fractures
