Androgen Receptor [AR] Axis Therapies
Some thoughts on AR-axis therapy (androgen deprivation & AR antagonists) after reading a new assessment of the benefit of second-line drugs [1]. In a sense, I view myself fortunate to have been diagnosed in 2004. When surgery [RP] was not successful (nor salvage radiation) it was suggested that I begin

Fibro fog conundrum
It's quite high responsibility, administrating prescription Medicines, controlled drugs, emergency and
palliative
care
etc. The longer I'm off, the more anxious I feel about returning. I feel I can't even drive safely anymore as I struggle gear changing.

Waiting on test results is often the hardest part
My Jeff had labs and a
palliative
care
appointment. We are still reeling from the brain mets diagnosis, but I’m grateful to report that his pain is still reasonably managed. I’m typically the most vocal in his
palliative
care
appointments as I strongly advocate for Jeff.

PCa symptom: Sweet Tooth?
I have read up on prostate cancer and
palliative
care
, and I prepared to see a loss of appetite in my dad. Wow was I wrong! He has gone the complete other way and it is hilarious. His craving for sweets is through the roof.

No More Balloons For Me
Spent a week in Mayo as
Palliative
Care
got things figured out. I was pretty much grounded to a wheel chair for the majority of the treatments. My Radiation + Ketruda wasn't suppose to begin until this month, September. I Was doing well with taking Zytiga and the ADT path.

A journey to come home
As an update, my dad is currently in
palliative
care
at home. I wanted to provide a bit of back story on the situation - both the bad and good moments this past month. My dad was on abi and started progressing.

My Nan is also at the stage where she is classed as
palliative
care
now, so we have Dorothy House night nurses stay each night, which is a massive relief. Can anyone help?? We just want the best for my Nan in her last stages of life 😢

Follow up care was NOT scheduled
While Jeff was in the hospital, Claudia with
Palliative
Care
, advised that Neurology was only following Jeff’s case via his chart as there was nothing they could do for him at that time. Jeff never met with a neurologist.

Docetaxel and Options Thereafter (NHS)
For example, when I asked what would be his options should he decide to decline chemo she said
palliative
care
but when I asked if radium is not an option, she backtracked and said yes so it doesn't fill me with confidence to be honest. Would abiraterone be useful after chemo?

My mother Irina
We took her home three weeks ago and she celebrated her 63rd birthday whilst in
palliative
care
. There was absolutely no way we were going to let her go in a hospital or a hospice.

CLL Society A patient Story: From color, such comfort!
CLL Society Patient Story: During decades of working in hospice and
palliative
care
, CLL patient and artist True Ryndes experienced uncommon exposure to grief and loss. "I would, every so often, repaint rooms in our home, heeding some call or need." From color, such comfort!

Next step. Comments?
We have decided on Zytiga/Prednisone with possibly radiation as
palliative
care
. I can be more specific about anything. Your comments are welcomed! Also, my primary oncologist is compassionate but I want more opinions. I have touched base with Dr.

Just saying, don't give up
I arranged my funeral, Wills done, I was seeing
palliative
care
, I was fighting to make it to mid January AND then a new drug Lynparza (different names in different countries) went on the PBS (so it's affordable)list in November. I started immediately.

Oh,
palliative
care
had amped his meds at the beginning of the week. Today when I asked how his pain was, he retorted, “I don’t have any pain”. Finally, pain levels are managed! ❤️🥳 I’m just so happy. #teamjeffgallagher
